“nice but limited amenities”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 11, 2013

My husband & I spent 3 night at Luton's Cabins in Moran, Wyoming. The scenery is awesome, you can sit on the porch , as we did each morning with our coffee,of the duples and see to the Teton's. The cabins are nice, with kitchens that have all the necessities. They do not however have air conditioning. Which for my husband & I was a surprise, being from Va. with hot summers. We were very comfortable though, not realizing that the nights could actually get cool in Moran. I did miss not having a clock/radio. I knew there wouldn't be t.v., but I would have like having clock. There were also limited eateries in the area. I do not like to cook on vacation, so we had to go out everytime to eat. We found a nice cafe across the valley, and had breakfast there every am. The other drawback to the Luton's is that there aren't any activities there. We wanted to go horseback riding, had never been before though. Did make reservations and went near the cabins. All in all, it was a nice stay.

This is the second time that my husband and I have stayed at Luton's Teton Cabins, the last time was 16 years ago when we were dating! We returned this summer with our daughter and had an amazing time. The cabins are meticulously clean and extremely comfortable. You really can't stay any closer to the Grand Tetons National Park without staying in the park itself. The entrance is around 5 miles from the cabins. The grounds are beautiful with stunning views of the Teton range, especially Mt Moran. I really can't say enough great things about this property, everyone is friendly and you get to know your temporary "neighbors" while they are hanging out at the grills and picnic tables or just admiring the view on the porch. It is quiet and definitely gives you the feeling that you are immersed in the countryside.

Specifics...we stayed in a one bedroom cabin. This had one bedroom, a queen bed (very comfortable) and a sleeper sofa in the living area (my daughter was very comfortable). The kitchen has a fridge/freezer, gas stove and plenty of storage space. There is no dishwasher (not a problem). There are coin laundry machines and detergent dispensers close by which were very handy! Clean towels and dish towels were provided each day. The cleaning staff was very friendly...heck...everyone was friendly!!!

The cabins are located about 45 minutes from Jackson Hole, WY and about the same from the South Entrance of Yellowstone. However, they are practically IN Grand Tetons National Park. We actually enjoyed the Tetons more than Yellowstone for their peace and quiet and amazing views! The wildlife is everywhere in the Tetons!

When we return we will definitely be staying at Luton's Teton Cabins!!

We stayed here with our sons for five nights this summer while we explored Grand Tetons and Yellowstone. Everything was top notch - and easily THE CLEANEST place I have ever stayed! It was very close to the Tetons park entrance and had everything we needed. A great break from the bustle of hotels and away from the crowds! It was a bit of a drive to get to Yellowstone for day trips, but it was so worth it. The owners are very friendly and accommodating, and did I mention that the cabins were immaculate?! Just know that there aren't many things nearby, so do you grocery shopping before you leave Jackson and head up to the cabins. This was a place I want to come back to again!

We just returned from our second visit to the Lutons' cabins. My husband and I were so taken with their beautiful location -- in the middle of an active ranching valley with a river running through it, 8 miles directly east of the stunning Teton peaks, with nothing but cows between you and them -- and the easy, thoughtful comfort provided by the Lutons, that we decided to bring our entire family there, minus one, to celebrate my 70th birthday. That's nine adults and seven children ranging in age from 1 to 15. Other reviews (see Dansmom4, for example) describe exactly what the cabins provide and what terrific things there are to do and see in the area. I'd just like to echo their praise. We travel a lot because our kids live all over the place, including London. We really wanted to share a unique experience of the American West with everyone, and I don't think there could be a better place to do it. Many thanks to Brad and Joanne and all their great staff for making this an unforgettable time for everyone.

Room Tip: I believe all the rooms are equally good. They're arranged in blocks of two in a semicircle. Wh...

If you are looking for a quiet place to retreat to after exploring the Tetons and Yellowstone, this is it. The view of the Tetons, across the large expanse of pasture is amazing. The quiet is soothing, the staff very friendly and helpful and the owners as nice as can be. My children played with each other and outside because there is no tv. That was a bonus. We walked over to the adjacent property (family of owners) and talked to the horses and fed a few carrots to them.

Our two bedroom cabin was very clean and tidy. The beds comfortable and the bathroom had heating lights. We never had to use the central heat, despite temps dropping to freezing (July!!!), so the cabins must be well insulated. Pots, pans, dishes, detergent...all there. Laundry facilities on site with a quarter machine and detergent machine. Housekeeping came everyday to make beds and change out towels, if needed.

The town of Jackson is about 40 minutes away. On the way, we saw a herd of buffalo grazing, calves included, which may mean that Jacson is a shorter drive but we stopped to enjoy the site.. The Tetons (Jenny Lake) was about 20 minutes away. I recommend getting there early as parking becomes an issue. Groceries can be had at a nearby RV park store or driving into Colter Bay (20 min) where there is a convenience store that sells everything.

Luton Cabins satisfied all my requirements: quiet, uncrowded, beautiful stars at night, cool in the morning, warm in the afternoon, well equipped cabins (didn't need anything) and a chance to relax. I want to go back.

Thanks to Brad and Joanne for opening up their slice of heaven to the rest of us.

We spent a week here in June. The facilities are immaculate with the cabins being top notch. The property shows that Brad & JoAnne take pride in what they have built with their own hard work. The staff was very helpful with everything from making sure we were comfortable to recommending sights and activities during our stay. The property is located as near to the North enterance to GTNP without staying in the park. If we plan another trip to the area, we will definitely stay with them again.

We found Luton's via TA and can't say enough about this fantastic location and the beautiful meticulously maintained cabins and grounds. We had a 2 bedroom cabin (1 king, 2 queen, pull out sofa) for 5 people and it had ample space, was immaculate and very comfortable. It is a real handcrafted log cabin, with a nice porch and everything you need to cook, grill or just hand out.
The owner Brad was extremely helpful to my wife in pointing out key spots to visit, hike and horseback ride in Grand Teton. He even let us borrow bear spray (which was a nice gesture, saved us $100 and was relevant as we saw grizzlies 3 days in a row, only a couple of miles from our cabin as you approach the Signal Dam area. Brads helper Mike was also very helpful and friendly and provided additional insight. My kids loved the cabins (18,15,12) and of our 2 weeks stay in WY & MT our 4 nights at Lutons were the family favorites. If you want to feel like your out in a Wyoming valley and range with beautiful mountains surrounding you, but very convenient to Grand Teton, this is the place. Can't wait to go back someday. (btw we loved the Grand Teton park as much if not more so than Yellowstone, it's sheer beauty and wildlife were amazing).

Room Tip: We went with the 2 bedroom, normal view, all the views are good. Was just the right size for a fami...
