“Obliging to our needs + a perfect room for our exhausted, dirty bodies”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 26, 2014

We left a Popo Agie Wilderness horse packtrip a day early, b/c our wrangler was injured, and we were exhausted trying to serve as substitute wrangler. Even though our reservation for the next night was, by then, nonrefundable/noncancellable, the front desk kindly moved our prepaid reservation from Wed to Tues. (We are Choice Privileges members - maybe that helped.) Cleaning up was a priority and the shower spray was strong. While I found the tub to be slippery, they provided tub mats for safety. Along with the 2 sinks, we appreciated the coffee service (with half & half), the refrig/micro, the many surfaces for luggage, and the dark, quiet room. No elevator, if that matters to you. The only slight annoyance was a creak to the bathroom door, which could awaken others sleeping. B'fast was the usual - if you don't like carbs, eat the hard-boiled eggs. Thanks, Rodeway Inn Pronghorn!

Room Tip: We had the distant, upstairs room. It was quiet.

When checking in I was greeted at the front desk by a punk rock tatted young lady with the worst attitude I have ever experienced checking into a hotel. Internet so slow that pages time out before they load. Had to use my phone data plan for access to the Internet. Rooms cheaply furnished. Inexpensive mattresses. Inexpensive linens. Fitness room contains one elliptical. Evidence of deferred maintenance everywhere. On the positive side the room has microwave and fridge… appeared clean. You get what you pay for.

We stayed here one night on our way to Yellowstone. I have to admit I was nervous about the hotel because the room rates were low and you get what you pay for. I was pleasantly surprised; rooms were very clean and large. Would definitely recommend if passing through Lander.

We have been to the HIE in Lander but the seasonal prices along with their pet fee was outrageous so we stayed at the Rodeway Inn. Pet friendly, nice staff, and surprisingly very quiet. The room was immaculate and had just about any amenity imaginable (flat screen, refrigerator, microwave, coffee station, etc.). They don't have the same bedding as the HIE but the room was perfectly adequate and well priced for the area. We'd definitely stay again.

I'm going to preface this post with the fact that I'm a bit of a germaphobe. The person working when we checked in was very friendly and went out of her way to accommodate us. We had some extra requests and she worked things around and made sure we had what we needed.
There was a pull out couch in the room we stayed in that we were using for our teenager, and when we pulled it out, there was a hair in the sheets. The clerk was quick to get us clean sheets for it, but that was a bummer. Other than that it seemed clean and the shower had really high pressure.
The room came with a continental breakfast, and also a discounted breakfast at the restaurant across the parking lot. We opted for the restaurant as the continental breakfast leaves something to be desired. All in all, Lander was a great stop on a longer trip, and this was a perfect place to rest for a night.

After a recent terrible lodging experience in the same town, I decided to spend an extra $20 and see what a king suite at the Pronghorn Lodge would do for me. Holy moly! Not only was the reservationist professional on the phone, I was allowed an early check-in and was able to use their hot tub and relax on their creekside deck before my meeting that evening. The king suite (for $79 plus tax) had a kitchen with fridge, stove, microwave, eat-in countertop, room for my own pantry items (which I didn't need) and great tap water. The same area had a living room with a/c and flat screen tv and the bedroom had a door to close between the bedroom/bathroom area and LR/Kitchen. Everything was spotless and I left a good tip for the cleaning person. Continental breakfast was hard-boiled eggs, yogurt, bagels, muffins and a tiny cup of coffee but enough to get you going in the morning. The spa room was kind of small but the tub will fit 4 and was clean and fresh smelling. There is a small gym with a few pieces of equipment to use with a tv to watch during your workout. I couldn't hear my neighbors at night, no street noise (I was in the back) and you can picnic on a table near the creek at the back of the property. I really appreciated the amenities and recommend it highly. I won't bother trying another lodge in Lander. The price was right and so was the operation!

Room Tip: The spa is down around the back and down a set of cement steps. So if you don't want steps etc...

After a hot day in the (motorcycle) saddle we were happy to ride into town and check in into the Pronghorn lodge. We picked the hotel based on Tripadvisor reviews.
We were pleasantly surprised. Nice large room, comfortable beds, good working AC and Wifi. We stayed at the first floor. THe motel offers a breakfast but we decided to accept the voucher which offers a breakfast at $4.95 next door. You can pick and choose between eggs and pancakes, etc. OK for a breakfast and definitely better than what is offered at the motel.

The great thing about this lodge is that it is walking distance from a great urban funky restaurant / beer brewery! Yes, a beer brewery in Montana. And the beer is good and the food intesting and of good quality. You should definitely try it out. They have a patio as well. (COWFISH)
