4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 9, 2012

I really liked this place, It is right on the river and very nice. All the rooms have a river view, you can watch the wild life or just enjoy the sound of Th river. You wont find a better place in the town or nicer people. The staff is very friendly and will do what they can to make your stay worth while. Out of all the places I stay on the road this is one of them I look forward to coming back to.

Have a great stay!

Room Tip: Stay along the river!

Thank you for your review and I'm glad you enjoyed your stay with us! The riverview rooms face out over the Popo Agie River (it's pretty small in the winter, more like a creek), and we do see deer wander through, and an occasional pheasant. Rooms 101 through 125 face the river. Thanks for staying with us, and we wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! - Barb

I had to make a last-minute stop near Lander for business and ran into town to find a motel. I was shocked that the folksy looking hotel had huge room with unbelievably comfortable beds, a large flat screen television, a really nice couple operating it, and a hot tub to relax in. I got a great price and a better night's sleep. I just wish I could have stayed a couple more days. You don't find that on the road very often.

Thank you for your review! I like the word "folksy" you used to describe our place. It really does fit the exterior look of the place, and it sounds friendly. We have Simmons Beautyrest mattresses in various models in the rooms, and we've got 4 more flat screen televisions waiting to be installed. We don't have flat screens in all the rooms yet, but we're working on it! We're glad you chose to stay with us and we hope you have a great holiday season! - Barb

Appearances can be deceiving and this inn looks like something out of the 60's or 70's, I'm not sure whether I would have decided to stay at this inn had it not been for the great Tripadvisor reviews -- but it's a fantastic place to stay. The rooms are huge with ample seating areas and storage for luggage with a terrific view, very clean and quiet. Coffee is available in the morning along with some bagged pastries. The staff was very friendly and supplied me with a hairdryer to use. We trust Tripadvisor reviews and this is just another example of why we do! We were also within walking distance of a great microbrewery and Cowfish restaurant.

Thank you for your review! We do look like a place out of the 60's. The motel was built right around then, and sometimes it reminds me of the house on the Brady Bunch (remember that show?), long sloping roof line, split level, etc. The rooms from 101 to 125 all have various views of the Popo Agie river that runs behind the motel. The microbrew place you mentioned is called the Lander Bar. I think they brew the beer in part of the Cowfish (I see the big stainless steel tanks in the window). Both the Cowfish and Lander Bar have great food, great beer, and great service. We're glad you enjoyed Lander, and as always, we appreciate your business! - Barb

We stayed for one night in mid-September because we had an appointment early the next morning and didn't want an 85 mile drive. Other reviewers praised this motel, so we gave it a try. The price was reasonable, the office folks were friendly and accommodating, and check in went quickly. The room was extremely clean and quite large. Yes, it is an older motel, but it had everything we needed, and many newer motels are not as clean. It is also very dog friendly. We were given a plastic bag and a biscuit for our dog, and there were nice areas to walk her. Another perk is that Oxbow Restaurant is next to the motel. It is a good family restaurant. If the need arises, we will definitely stay at the Holiday Lodge again.

Thank you for your review! We do take pets, both large and small. We've even had a guest or 2 that traveled with a bird! (We didn't have a treat for the birds, unfortunately.) We aim, every day, to give our guests a clean and comfortable room and we're glad you enjoyed your stay! As always, we thank you for your business, and hope you have a great autumn! - Barb

A bright neon sign welcomes you to this old motel...but don't let its exterior turn you away! The rooms are large, very clean, have a nice view of the river lined with cottonwoods, and come with a fridge and a microwave. There was even a large Hot Tub for guests to use. The owner was very friendly and helpful. We definitely enjoyed our stay.

Thank you for your review! We are definitely a "Route 66" kind of place. The Holiday Lodge was completed in either 1958, 1959, or 1961, depending on which retired contractor in town you talk to. We found the original blueprints above the garage right about the time we took over in 1997, and some of the really "Route 66" style elements have been changed over the years (and some other things as well. We don't really miss the 6' satellite dish in the front yard). We're not fancy, but we do our best every day to be clean, comfortable and friendly. Again, thank you for your review and as always, we appreciate your business. - Barb

We just happened upon this charming motel in Lander. What a wonderful surprise to find a large, immaculate room with all the basic amenities, plus more. The friendly owners take pride in the property and it shows in every way. We decided to try some privately owned motels and B&B's on this trip, some with success and others not so much....but this is the first time that I have taken the time to write a review, I am that impressed! I would recommend this to anyone looking for affordable, very pleasing accommodations, in which you will feel safe, welcome, comfortable and at ease.

Room Tip: Feel free to speak with the owners about what you would like, I believe they will do all they can to...

We enjoyed our stay at the Holiday Lodge so much! We even made reservations for our next trip to Lander in 9 months! The beds were super comfortable, the room was immaculately clean and spacious, the air conditioner was very powerful, and we had a terrific view of the river. Some details we especially appreciated: the shower head, the complimentary sewing/mending kit, the toothpaste packets in the room, comfy pillows, large wall-mounted TV. The property owners are very friendly, welcoming, and accommodating. We considered staying at a chain/franchise hotel during our visit to Lander, but we're very glad we stayed at the Holiday Lodge instead!

Thank you for your review, and we are very glad you chose to stay with us. We currently have the wall mounted TV's in 16 of our 39 rooms. We have been buying them a couple at a time as the finances allow. We like 'clean' and do our best every day to give folks a nice, comfortable place to stay. Hope you have a great day! Barb
