Stopped here for lunch; definitely a "locals'" place (my partner, who lived in the area many years ago, calls it a "ranchers' restaurant"). Service was reasonably fast, and the chili (one bowl of red, one bowl of green) was extremely good. The grilled cheese sandwich was uninspired: plain white bread and pre-sliced white American, when we'd asked for -- and been told we could have -- Swiss. The restaurant is showing some wear -- tables, booths, and even the menus looked like they hadn't been updated for probably 15 years. The real problem is the smoke. Yes, I know that there's going to be cigarette smoke in pretty much every restaurant and bar in Wyoming, but here, we asked to sit in the non-smoking section, and ended up in a booth that was right beside the entryway to the only partially separate smoking section. We wouldn't have been any worse off if we'd been right in the middle of the smokers. Maybe when the place is less busy, the smoke isn't as bad, but at mid-day, it was a problem. Final verdict: the chili is actually worth a second trip, but I would probably go elsewhere for anything else.
