“Small "cabin" was dirty, tub floor broken, terrible value”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed July 9, 2012 via mobile

We stayed in a "cabin" that was touted as riverfront but was a block from the creek and fronted on the parking lot. The floors were dirty in the cabin. The tub creaked with every movement. The shower walls were cracked. There was no closet or dresser. One of the windows had a lace rag thumbtacked over it, not at all blocking the sun from coming in. And, it was expensive.

We enjoyed a four night stay during a trip to Yellowstone & Grand Tetons NP's. This is a lovely B&B with a truely alpine feel. We felt at home as soon as we arrived, there was real tea (difficult to find for us Yorkshire folk abroad) and also home made cookies in the lovely Viking Bar area. Our room was beautiful with plenty of pillows on the huge bed, the only one on our trip to accommodate my tall husband! There was a great selection for breakfast, including a different hot dish each day, cooked to order, either in the sunny dining room or out on the verandah as it was so warm. We only needed a snack during the day! It was nice to return each evening to relax before venturing out into Jackson for an evening meal. Although probably too far from Yellowstone park, the Alpine House is ideally located to explore the Grand Tetons.

Room Tip: Ask for a garden view if possible

Only stayed here one night and I wished it were more. As soon as I checked in I felt at home. The decor was from a small village in Austria or Switzerland lots of natural wood. The small staff of Hans, Erika and Nancy were excellent. The room was moderate size and appointed nicely and very clean. A hot breakfast was included and cooked to perfection. The location was close enough for walking downtown to the park and shopping areas. Could have spent all of the vacation here. I recommend it highly.

This was our third stay at Alpine House but first at the inn itself. It reminded us our our stays in small European inns. It was convenient to town and mostly quiet. The breakfast is killer and the gathering room convenient for meeting people, enjoying a glass of wine in the evening, or a book on a wet day. The rooms are not spacious but clean. The only amenity is sauna that lacked towels and a massage room you can book. Overall will likely use this for our future stays in Jackson.

Room Tip: Basement rooms are that. The cottages are special but further from hotel and town.

Jackson hole has always been one of our favorites, it is now our favorite. Hans, Erika nd everyone at Alpine House were incredible. We had a large group of 15 and from the planning to the stay there everything was flawless. The entire group felt home with home cooked breakfast, a warm fireplace and a staff that made younfell comfortable at every point. The rooms were comfortable, well appointed and spotless! We no longer have to think aboutnwherento stay in Jackson, Alpine House is the place!

The Alpine House is a special gem. Hans and Nancy make you feel like family in a warm, casual environment. It's steps away for the bus to Teton Village and there are always homemade cookies to greet you after a hard day of skiing This is our fourth visit to the Alpine House with young children (8&9) and look forward to our next visit.

This is our third stay at the Alpine House and each time we stay, it never disappoints. When you're coming all the way from Australia, you want to make sure you've chosen wisely. The location is excellent - just 2 blocks from the main town square, but still far enough away from the hubbub to be peaceful. The bus stop is also only a short 10m walk from the front door - excellent in ski boots! The Alpine House is not hard to find - you can navigate Jackson in a blizzard with your eyes shut and in fact all the locals know where it is - it's that good. Tell anyone you're staying at the Alpine House and the reply will be nothing but filled with praise.
It is a bit surrounded by other accomodations, but you'd be hard pressed to find ANYWHERE in Jackson that isn't. This is a tourist town, so expect the place to be jam packed with other places to stay/visit/see/eat/drink. It never claims to be out in the woods. Besides, the charm of the decor and the building itself with great front yard, verandahs and multiple indoor lounge & chill out areas more than makes up for the proximity of other properties.
The main reason we chose The Alpine House in the first place was that it is NOT a hotel, it is a B&B in the truest sense, so don't expect a 24hr front desk. Yes, the staff leave at 8pm, but we found this to be really nice. It gives you a feeling of being at home when you are left to be at peace with the house after hours. You are welcome to help yourself to the honour bar which is always filled with beers & wines, tea & coffee and Erika's amazing cookies & pastries which she bakes fresh daily. And you never know, you just might meet some lovely people when sharing your ski day stories with other guests late into the evening over a beer in the lounge. The fact that this is a B&B means you are made to feel not just at home, but part of the family by owners Nancy & Hans and also their fabulous staff Erika & Tracy. The service is very personal and our stay is everything a travelling experience should be - warm, welcoming and enriching. Like nothing you will find in ANY hotel with a nice view, 24hr front desk or staff that forget your name before they've swiped your credit card.
This trip we brought our 4yr old son and stayed in the kitchenette for a week. The room itself (as are all of them) is beautifully decorated in that classic scandinavian style and the bathroom is kitted out with a delightful selection of complimentary toiletries. Our son (and us for that matter) slept like a log and enjoyed the novelty of his fold out queen size sofa bed. The kitechenette meant we could eat in after a long day on the slopes and the little one couldn't manage the short walk to the restaurants. But we could still enjoy the spectacular breakfast that welcomed us in the dining room each morning.
So, if you're looking for the whole package - wonderful building with a personality all its own, warm and comfortable rooms, spectacular breakfast and personalised service that you WILL NOT get anywhere else, this is your place. If you're looking for a hotel style stay where you are not much more than a walking credit card but it has hot tubs, stuffy restaurants, ski in/ski out, all the trimmings but somehow you'll walk out of there feeling a bit empty and your wallet emptier, then stay up at Teton Village and don't complain about the extra $1000+ you'll pay for the privilege.
Big thanks to the Alpine House crew for yet another memorable stay that we won't stop banging on about until our next ski trip stateside!

Room Tip: They're all good in their own way. The upper floors are a bit more sunny. Tell the staff when yo...
