“Nice location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 26, 2012

This hotel is located just north of the town of Jackson overlooking the National Elk Refuge. It has a nice "Out of town" feel to it and a pleasant view of the refuge and mountains across the road. The room was very clean and well maintained. A complaint about an alarm clock left on in the next room was immediately attended to by the front desk.

Saw a couple negative remarks but more positive. My photo buddy recommended the Elk as they had stayed there for a couple photo trips to the Tetons. We arrived and were plesantly surprised. Our room was big, two king beds plus a nice comfy couch, fridge, microwave, huge bathroom. The room is amazingly quiet. Gourmet coffe and monster muffins in the morning. The Staff we encountered Lisa, Laura, John who is the resident manager were so helpful. We couldn't have asked for nicer service. We loved it and will probably book again!

Room Tip: We were in a deluxe patio room. Actually Room #101 Huge room that would probably sleep 6. The room...

We liked everything about our room here except the carpet. The bath and kitchenette and the flooring in those areas appear to have been renovated and were very clean. The bed was comfortable and it was quiet there in spite of being on one of the main roads into Jackson. We slept well. The carpet, however, is very stained and detracts from everything else. It should be replaced. The view of the valley and mountain is very appealing. Other than the carpet, we enjoyed our overnight stay.

We arrive late in the night from the airport , from new york by S.L.C. The girl at the reception is very kind, but Dave, a guest, is special: my children and my husband listened his stories, what was going on at jackson and in the parks around us. The room was cool, soft and fresh smelling beds, the bathroom large and clean, with orange fragance soap, and infrared light for relaxing shower. The Continental breakfast was rich, but the atmophere was still better! My children think that the E.R.I. was the best location in our trip, better than the others we had been in yellostone and grand teton parks

We stay in Jackson at least once a year and always thought it would be nice to stay by the Refuge. Our stay was not pleasant. We paid 170.00 a night in advance with no cancellation policy. The room was old but clean, the a/c would not stay consistant on temp. We waited over 10 minuties for someone to come and check us in. We both work on the road so the internet is essential and they said they had internet which they did but you could not get full access either thru wireless or ethernet cable. We called the front desk and got a "turn it off and on, I don't know" and that was the extent of it. So we spent three hours in town at a coffee shop to get our work done. When we meantioned this to the front desk at check out she said if we had problems they could of had us stay at their hotel in town. That would of been nice to know when we called the night before instead of being brushed off! Won't be staying here again.

I stayed at this hotel in Aug 2012 and paid $140.40 for 1 night - the carpet was badly stained. The bathroom was filthy- mould on the floor and on the shower. The baseboards were all rotten. The caulking was had all come out from the side of the shower. When I told them at reception all they said was, Oh I guess well put your registration form on this pile- of not satisfied! Working in the hotel business myself, I could not believe the attitude. I would definately NOT recomend staying here, there are plenty mor hotels all within a 2 miles drive.

Room Tip: Go elsewhere!

Did not have reservations during the busy season and was happy to get a room when we stopped. The beds were the most comfortable!! Loved the kitchenette! Enjoyed setting on the balcony and drinking coffee, at dusk and dawn. The rooms were spotless, the towels were fluffy. It was so peaceful and quiet there! No, there is no pool. No entertainment. But if you want a good night sleep in a charming clean motel, this is the place!!!
