We stayed at the Elk Country Inn for three nights combined in June. First night our cabin faced the street so when we returned I requested a cabin that faced inward to the play area. Cabins were pretty clean, and had two queen beds in a room separated from the rest of the cabin by a door (although the over the door was open so if you want complete privacy you wouldn’t have it). Bathroom was clean with plenty of nice towels and toiletries. Rest of the cabin has a kitchen/dining and a sofa that folds out to a double (or queen?) bed. My son reported it was not very comfortable. Kitchen area comes with some pans/plates/
utensils. We didn’t cook just ate cereal so I can’t report on how useful the cooking stuff was. Dining area was very small table and two chairs – so if you have more people, they’ll have to take turns. Room also came with two TVs – one larger in bedroom and one smaller in kitchen. The lobby staff was very nice, lobby has free internet access terminal (15 min limit) and they have coffee/tea/hot chocolate, candy and fruit stocked most of the day. The location is very convenient right on a main road that goes through Jackson and walking distance to the main square and many restaurants. That said, keep in mind that even these are “cabins”, they are really part of a motel, squeezed in between several other motels and restaurants. So if you are looking for a “remote nature cabin experience” this is not it. One other negative comment, while we were there, they were renovating the cabins and first left a bunch of paint and equipment on our porch and more annoying, a strong smell of paint and chemicals in both the cabins we used.
