This hotel is a sister property of the Antler Inn, 49er Inn, and the Cowboy Village Inn, all which seem nice and are centrally located to the downtown area, but I felt this was the best choice for my family.
We recently stayed three nights in the hotel as part of our Yellowstone/Grand Tetons Tour. It is on Pearl Street, 1/2 block off of W. Broadway, a main thoroughfare, that leads you to the highways that can take you North to the Tetons, West to Jackson Hole/Teton Village, South to rafting on the Snake River, or East into downtown Jackson.
Jackson is an excellent town for dining, with many high and low-end options, and this hotel was near them as well. Bubba's Barbeque was across the street and we ate there for breakfast one day and dinner the next (good pricing, quality and service, with a nice, funky, western atmosphere). The Town Square is about three blocks away, an easy walk to other restaurants and tourist attractions (elk antler arches, stagecoach ride, 6:00 p.m. western shootout, Million Dollar Cowboy Bar, shopping, etc...).
The room itself was a three queen room; one bed was in an upper loft area, which was perfect for my kids. They had their own TV and dresser up there, and a place to spread their toys. The lower area had the two queen beds, closet area, plus a place to store luggage under the loft stairs, a sizable dresser, and cable TV and wireless internet (we used all of these features, and they were fine). There was also a round table tucked in a corner, I guess to act as a desk/table, but it blocked the door that lead to the deck outside.
In the entry area, there was more closet space, as well as a dorm room-sized mini-fridge and a microwave. This area also had the SMALL sink and bathroom area. While very clean (no mold, had heat lamps, fan, etc...) and well-stocked, the small size was a definite negative for my family and a surprise, considering the large size of the room.
Another small negative was the lack of an elevator to the second story. Luckily, I have healthy kids and a husband to help me carry things, but if you need help with a lot of stuff or can't use stairs, be sure to request a first floor room (the staff is very pleasant, and I am sure they would help with luggage, if required).
Another bonus was the eight-person hot tub that I used while I was running two loads of laundry. The hot tub room and laundry room are in two small connecting buildings in the parking lot away from the main building; there were four washers and two dryers (no change machine). On another day, I took my youngest daughter to the little park area by the hotel. It has grills, picnic tables, and playground equipment that is just the right size for an eight year old. The lawn is well-maintained and pleasant to enjoy.
Checking in and out was easy and quick and the small lobby area has internet access, hot beverages, postcards (and postage), and all the travel info you could want. My family was very happy for our three nights in this hotel and this town and would love to come back again.
