Stayed here for two nights and will never go back. The office is in the next hotel over. They list that wifi is available and it wasn't the whole time we were there. Office staff had no idea on how to fix it and didn't bother calling there service provider till I recommended it. When I complained about the wifi they said that we could always find another hotel. The room had only two grounded outlets that were loose so plugs kept falling out. The rest of the plugs were only two prongs so we couldn't plug in anything. Oh and be careful in the parking lot. It's badly maintained and I sprained my ankle right out side my room.

Accommodation in Jackson is 'spendy' for sure, but at least lock a guests room after you 'clean' it. Twice after we got back from a days hiking in the Tetons we found our room unlocked, and given the close proximity these rooms have to the road, anyone could have helped themselves to our belongings. Having brought this to the managers attention the first time we were assured it was an isolated incident. Sadly that was not the case, although the manager apologised we did not get the impression he really cared. If this happens to you go and pay a visit to the Jackson Chamber of Commerce to let them know one of their members is failing to provide basic security for guests. On a positive note the El Rancho motel is in a great location for any night time activity downtown.

I have stayed there 2 different times. 2 year apart. Had NO problems either time. Good Location. Need more Parking but every thing else for the price you pay was A OK. Would stay there again. Alot of things to do around the area. Walk everywhere no problem.

I want people to understand that this is an old hotel in the center of town. If you're looking for location, the El Rancho can't be beat. If you want luxury, go somewhere else. However, the room was clean, and cleaned every day we were there (4 days). The rooms would be so much nicer if they just replaced the carpets and upgraded the bathrooms. But the bed was comfortable and the room was surprisingly large. The continental breakfast was okay. They served Otis Spunkenmeyer muffins every morning, along with apples, yogurt and coffee. Not much variety, but it was enough. There is a fabulous Italian restaurant attached to the motel that only serves dinner. It's not affiliated with the motel in any way, but it was a great place for us to relax with a glass of wine and some appetizers. The El Rancho is within walking distance to everything. In a town where hotel rooms can cost hundreds of dollars a night, the El Rancho served the purpose of a place to lay our heads after our very active days.

This motel is located in the heart of downtown Jackson. However, it was very difficult to find. The sign was barely visible from the street and check in was at the Anvil Hotel around the block. The location may be nice, but the hotel is not. The room was small and very dirty. The carpet and bed coverings were suspect, the windows were grimy, the lamp shade torn, and the shower and bathroom were visibly dirty. This hotel was the dirtiest I've stayed in in a long time. And at $125 a night I felt robbed. My recommendation is you look for another hotel, even if it costs a bit more.

Motel is not new, but looks that it never was updated. Office is several hundred yards from a building, so it's inconvenient to go every time to get something, i.e. hot water. Breakfast is the worst from similar places I have been before. Internet should be in a room, but it's not working even in the office.Rate is very overpriced for quiality of service provided, even for the season. Everything in this motel is about how to get the most $ and spend the least $. The only "plus" is location.

Room Tip: This place is worth 2-3 times less vs. what they charge.

We didn't have high expectations for our room.. We were merely looking for a place to sleep in Jackson for a few nights.. Unfortunately we couldn't even sleep...

The room was a little stuffy so we needed to keep the windows open for some cool air and there was no air conditioning in the rooms.. On the first night one all we could hear were other guests talking in the parking lot to all hours.. All the rooms face each other and the parking lot so there is consistent noise most of the night from people sitting out at the tables talking, congregating in the parking lot etc..

The 2nd night was even worse, our room was located next to a restaurant that had a party. They left us a gift certificate to use as an apology but unfortunately it got to our room after we got back from dinner.. I'm guessing the restaurant knew they were having a party before 6 at night.. I would have felt better if they had left us the offer as we checked in. Also if they had their equipment moved in at a decent hour and did not break down the party until the next day it would have been better.. At 3:00 am all we could hear was the packing and movement of equipment from the party that had kept us up the last 4 or 5 hours..

great location.. shabby rooms, loud..
