“Small, but OK”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 26, 2012

This motel is in Jackson so it is convenient to walk to restaurants and shops. It is older and the rooms are very small. There was little space to open two suitcases. Had to use the table for one suitcase. Breakfast consisted of prepackaged blueberry muffins, yogurt and granola bars. Had to bring them back to the room because there was no space to eat in the tiny lobby.

Compared to other hotels/motels in Jackson it was lowere priced. The whole area is overpriced from motels to dining rooms.

Had a nice meal in Nani's Cuccina restaurant around the corner. Homemade pasta was quite good, but expensive compared to restaurants back home. After all it was just lasagna and fettucini....these do not have not expensive ingredients.

Room Tip: Rooms on the back are quiet. There is no elevator so you have to lug your suitcases up the stairs if...

We stayed here one evening. There was nothing remarkably good or bad about the experience. The location permits easy walking to any attraction in town and a quick departure to the airport, which is north of town. There is a great Italian restaurant that is located behind the motel. Jackson is a very expensive town for motel rooms.

We stayed at the Anvil Motel for one night while visiting the Grand Tetons. It was clean and comfortable. It is comparable to a Motel 6. If you want fancy with all the amnemities, stay elsewhere. Everything in Jackson Hole is expensive. This was reasonablly placed considering. The staff was friendly and helful. It is fine for an overnight stay.

The hotel was very overpriced, the air conditioning sounded like a rocket taking off, Internet was intermittent and breakfast was awful. The staff were not particulalry helpful and if anything they didn't seem to care. If you have any other options consider them before using this Hotel. Buy a tent and camp or sleep on the streets.

When you check into the motel on the main thoroughfare you're told to go down to the first street, turn and go into a parking area. The "street" is an alley, and you arrive at what looks like a farm labor camp. The place is really old. People were sitting outside their rooms smoking and the fumes drifted into our tiny, but clean room. The towels seemed to be from the same era as the motel. The bed sagged. The free breakfast was weak coffee, a plastic-wrapped cupcake, and fruit. This place was one of the worst places on our entire vacation, but far from the cheapest.

Room Tip: Avoid the high prices of Jackson and stay in lovely little Alpine, Idaho!

I thought the room was overpriced and extremely old and out dated. Our air conditioner quit working and we called the front desk and a man came and said I don't know what is wrong and left. We called again later and he came back and brought a small fan and told us to open the window, which he proceed to do and raised the blind. We told him we could not sleep with the blind up as people were walking by our room. We asked to be moved and he told us he didn't have anymore rooms. We found out later the guy was the manager the next morning when we asked to speak to the manager. We were told he would call us and he never called. The breakfast was a total joke. No place to eat ( mufffins and apples ) The location was all it had going for it. The parking was so limited you had to park on the street and haul all your bags across the street to your room. Don't dare move after you park or you will be parking several blocks away. Save your money and stay someplace else.

Room Tip: Location isn't everything stay someplace else and drive to city center.

I was in Jackson for three nights. I arrived a night early and grabbed a room at the Super 8 before moving to my two reserved nights at the Anvil. I can tell you that it is unquestionably a HUGE downgrade from the Super 8, so that should tell you something. First the good: it's a cute town and the location is walk-to-everything perfect. It looks nice from the outside, and the parking is free. It does have free wifi but it was dial-up slow. The bad: it was overpriced for what you get, more than double the Super 8. The air conditioner in one of our rooms was so loud that it kept waking us up, and the air conditioner in the other room didn't function. The air quality in the rooms was pretty nasty, probably as a result of the bad HVAC units. My bed spread had a disgusting and obvious ejaculation stain on it. Cheap furniture, cheap carpets, almost unwatchable TV's. Do yourself a favor and grab the Motel 6 or Super 8 if you are in Jackson. You may have to drive 5 minutes to get to the cute square area but it's worth it.
