I felt very at home at the Lexington. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. I work in hospitality, and I was very impressed with their eagerness to serve their guests. The front desk agent was more than happy to accommodate our room requests instead of seeing us as high maintenance. The breakfast attendant looked for opportunities to serve us in the morning and greeted each person as they arrived.
The rooms are all very new and are decorated very tastefully with a little bit of a lodge feel. It doesn't feel like "just another hotel room." And the sheets and the bedding - they were heavenly! (I contemplated stuffing the comforter in my bag...)
Lastly, the breakfast was a step above your standard hotel continental breakfast. There was cereal, eggs, biscuits and gravy, yogurt w/ berries & granola, fresh pastries, fresh local coffee, etc.
I'm from the area, so the location in town was not a big deal for me, however, I think most visitors would appreciate being only a few blocks walking distance from town square, shopping, and good restaurants.
Hands down, you should look at the Lexington if you're visiting Jackson.
