“Ideal location, nice suite, good service: what else do you want in Jackson?”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 12, 2013 via mobile

We arrived later than expected and were allocated the last remaining suite (no surprise here).
Although our view wasn't great, we spent very little time in the room except to sleep. The frig was cold, the room was warm, and the shower was hot. The ski lift was less than 100' from our door, but of course no snow in June. What's not to like?

We arrived at the Snow King early June 2013, unaware they had been under construction for renovated lobby since October 2012, the lobby still not open. Although roadway signage directed customers up hill to Grand View Lodge for registration, I witnessed many, many lost people who did not see those signs and walked into the side entrance of hotel with no direction from there. Signs should have been posted at every entrance to tell customers to sign in up at Grand View Lodge. Initial stages of opening of lobby started around June 6th, but satellite concierge office closed before lobby was even open. Coffee in hallway not refreshed unless asked, no water, pop, snacks, change, anything available to customers. Most had no idea what was going on. They also charged $15 per person for guests to eat buffet breakfast at Grand View! Shouldn't Snow King have provided that for free for all of the hassle they put their guests through? One saving grace were the employees who were so nice and really tried to accommodate and answer questions, but only had so much control. Poor management and planning, should have closed hotel during construction phase, probably would have finished much sooner! Rooms beautiful, except for view of construction trucks, mud, machines, etc, outside room. Snow King should reconsider staying open during construction next time!

Room Tip: Ask for view of ski mountain, versus back of lodge overlooking construction zone!

We booked through Expedia and got a real deal. Upon arriving we were upgraded without extra charge to one of the condos with a small kitchenette (microwave, sink and fridge) as well as a washer/dryer (complete with detergent). There was a nice little patio area where we sat in the morning with our coffee/tea. Our room was clean and comfortable. There was a "Murphy" bed in the living room with a real mattress (as opposed to the type of mattress usually found on a pull out sofa), and it was as comfortable as the bedroom bed. There was plenty of hot water in the bathrooms. The walls were a bit thin, as our suite shared a connecting door with another room, but luckily for us, it was a family who put their kids to sleep by 10, so it never kept us up.

The location of the resort was perfect, a nice little walk to downtown but well off the main drag, so it was quiet and 'woodsy'. Every morning we would head down to the hospitality room and get our tea or coffee, and Deborah, the concierge, would help us book anything we wanted to do, recommend a great place for breakfast, or just give us advice about options we might not have considered. Every single staff person that we met was friendly, helpful and polite.

I, like some others, didn't realize there were renovations going on when I booked, and was disappointed not to have the pool available. The check-in service did inform me right away that the hotel had an arrangement with an indoor pool locally, so if you swim for exercise that option is available. It was a little busy with construction during the day, but at night it was quiet, and we were usually out having adventures during the day anyway. I see now that we got such a good deal because there were renovations going on, so if you are planning a trip to the Tetons in order to sit at a hotel then you will probably be disappointed. But we hiked, went on a covered wagon dinner, floated down the Snake River in rafts, took pictures, drove to Yellowstone, ate at some great restaurants, etc. As a home base, the Snow King was a beautiful place to stay and the service was excellent.

We are so grateful for appreciative guests who take the time to write about their experiences here at Snow King. We love to hear about individual employees here who provide great service like Deborah at our concierge desk. We hold them in equally high regard. As you noted, we are in the final stages of our renovation which we expect to have completed by July 1st. We do apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you during your visit.

Please return soon and often!! Hope to be able to meet you and thank you in person.

Warm regards from your friends at Snow King.

Stayed here for 3 nights and was happy to be given a new room. The room was nice with a comfortable bed and nice bathroom. However the air conditioning unit didn't work and the window was difficult to open as it kept getting jammed.
This was a minor inconvenience compared to the noise on the hotel. Woken up at 5:30 with noisy neighbors anice machine in the corridor. The housekeepers send to like banging doors which could be heard from around 7:30 am, as well as construction workers.
My girlfriend swears she will never stay here again, our quality of sleep was terrible. They really need to do something a out the acoustics of th place.

Renovations are always a bit difficult, but the hotel has done an excellent job and our room was excellent. There may have been a glitch between Expedia and Snow King - our party's handicapped rooms were given to a young couple who did not know why they received a handicapped room. Handicapped parking was problematic - though staff assured us it was available, contractor's strippers blocked the lot and blocked us in. May have been done w/I staff's knowledge. Bedding was a dream!! Best we've had and I wish staff had known their vendor - I would buy some. We would recommend, and we would return.

We stayed for two nights at the Snow King Resort. The photos on the website were nothing like the actual unit that we received. We had reserved a two bedroom condo (with living room, kitchen, etc) and was given a two story unit that needs major renovation away from the main lodge. The exterior stairs were rotting and unsafe, the living room couch needs to be replaced, the pots and pans were lousy, and there was only one table knife in the drawer. The second bedroom mattress was truly uncomfortable and the TV remote did not work with the TV. I am sure our review would have been different if our room looked like the one in the brochure.

The hotel is still undergoing a huge renovation (when finished, this resort is going to be fantastic!). Signage is plentiful to direct you to the temporary registration area, and the front desk staff was very helpful and friendly describing where the guest room was. I stayed in a newly renovated guest room and was duly impressed. Wood floor entryway and nice quality western decor immediately welcome you to the mountains. Step out balcony emphasizes that feeling. Comfortable bed and absolutely luxurious linens - light and fluffy but warm. Spacious bathroom. Concierge knowledgeable and helpful. Other guests were chatty - usually a good indication of contentment. You can walk right out the door into the forest and take a long, safe walk (but seriously uphill!) with great views of the town of Jackson. Will recommend and return!
