“Very good”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 25, 2012

Stayed here for one night and was not disappointed. Best Westerns are usually pretty good, and this was one of them.
It was in a good location, and the room was spacious and quiet. Breakfast was good as always and the facilities looked OK even though we did not use them.

I again went with Priceline and was a little surprised when I drove up to this property. It is one of the drive-up to the front door motels and is quite basic. The continental breakfast was very simple. I paid $100 for this motel. However, it is close and up the street from the Buffalo Bill Historical Center. And convenient to getting started to Yellowstone National Park. There are slim pickings in Cody. On the way out I did see an upscale property that most likely was above my budget. Traveling through South Dakota and Wyoming was an interesting part of the trip. Although windy at times, going through the historic Black Hills was interesting. You see scenic plateaus and buttes -- wonderful rock formations. The beautiful hills or mountains if you prefer are beautiful. I passed on Devils Tower as the pictures didn't move me. I had to pay the price of road construction but that's the way it goes. Seeing deer and buffalo was cool too. One of my favorite memories is visiting the Lakota Museum. This museum is part of an Indian school and is rich with history. Buffalo Bill Historical Center is a good experience too.

Room Tip: As the property is located on one level right off the road, a room in the back would most likely be...

Thank you for staying with us. Our property is a motel and most of our guests love being able to drive right up to their rooms and park. Not only do they like being able to unload their bags easily, but they also like being able to see their vehicle from their room. We are happy that you had our breakfast. We offer eggs, sausage, pancakes, yogurt, hot and cold cereal, grits, fruit, muffins, english muffins, toast, bagels, juice, milk, coffe, danish, cinnamon rolls, etc.... so it is easy for everyone in the party to find something they will enjoy. We are happy that you enjoyed your time traveling across Wyoming. We hope you will travel this way and stay at one of our wonderful properties again.

This was a very reasonably priced hotel room, spacious, with mini-fridge, hair dryer. And you get a nice breakfast buffet too, and pools, workout room. I thought I'd died and went to heaven when I saw the tv Remote was cleaned and placed in a little white sleeve. don't be afraid to ask for discounts, especially for multiple nights.

This Hotel was booked by our travel agent and was not what we expected, being motel style accommodation that we do not like. We enquired at the Best Western Ivy Inn nearby and were able to obtain a room for 2 nights. On returning to the Sunset and explaining that we did not wish to use our pre-paid booking, they very generously offered to credit the value of our stay to the Ivy Inn, which is part of the same Company. I thought this was an exceptional response by the Sunset Motor Inn and although I cannot comment on the hotel itself, I have nothing but praise for their very positive response to our decision.

We stayed in this hotel on the way to Yellowstone NP. The property was an older drive-up style motel. The breakfast are is small based on the number of rooms. Even though we had to wait 10-15 minutes for a table, breakfast was very good. The buffet had a large variety of items. The hotel has tried to remedy the problem by creating outdoor seating. Laundry was not centrally located. Rooms were nice and large.

Usual Best Western standards. One of the biggest Best Westerns we have stayed in. Only downside is the breakfast area is way too small for the size of the property, so have to wait for a table, eat in the lobby area or weather permitting eat outside. Apart from that small gripe a good place to stay.

I am happy that you enjoyed your stay with us. We all work hard as a team to make sure each guest has a positive experience. I am sorry you had to wait for a place to sit in our lobby for breakfast. I hope that you enjoyed all that we had to offer and other than the small seating area, the rest of your breakfast was wonderful. Thank you for your comments. We hope to see you again soon.

We spent two nights at this motel, which is almost next door to the Buffalo Bill Historical Center. Our guest room was nicely furnished with a desk, chair, comfy bed, good pillows and good linens. We also had a microwave and a minifridge in the room. Nice! The complimentary breakfast is just OK. We paid $139.50 a night, which is not a great bargain but fair for high season.

During our stay, the hotel was having a problem getting WiFi to some of the guest rooms; if you stay there, ask for a room that receives the signal.
