“Wonderful, cozy place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 19, 2010

The Cody Legacy Inn is just as good as the reviews say. It was spotless, so clean that when I used the restroom in the lobby, I repolished the faucet! The room was large and very clean. They provided 4 plush bath towels and at least 5 wash cloths, The in room coffeepot is a Kierig. (unsure of the spelling). They even gave 6 pods of coffee. The cost to use the washer was only $1.00 unlike most hotels that charge $1.25. I wish we could have stayed another night because it was so relaxing. However, we had to leave for Yellowstone the following day. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Lucky you who gets to stay there. By the way, the ride to Yellowstone takes about 50 min. The scenery is very pretty.

We spent 3 nights at this hotel in early September. I think it was a good value for Cody. The rooms were average size, but the Western style beds made them feel a tad small. I thought the desk staff was OK, but not overly friendly. One woman was somewhat curt with me, but the rest of them were just fine.
The room was VERY clean as were the premises with the exception of the swimming pool which really needed to be vacuumed (the water was clean). As someone else said, there was no shade at the pool so an umbrella or two would have been nice.
The room was SO noisy. I think it has something to do with the construction of the building. We were on the first floor and you could almost feel the people walking in the hallway (even with the air conditioning and TV on). It also didn't help that the door opened directly into the room. Still I'd rather have some noise than a dirty room and this room was immaculate.
The breakfast was basic, but the desk clerks kept it well stocked so it didn't present as chintzy. All in all, it seemed like a very well organized property.
Location was just fine. It is only a couple of minutes by car to the main street. I can't imagine how anyone would be in Cody without a car (unless they were on a bus tour),
so this wasn't an issue.
I also liked the fact that it was non-smoking and non-pet.

After a few sub-par stays, the Cody Legacy was a real treat. I called on the road and the desk gave us a discounted rate which was greatly appreciated and were very friendly when we arrived. The hotel itself was nice and had a western feel and decor. We had a king room and it was very large, clean, and nice. Comfortable bed, fridge in the room, and details made it feel luxurious. Breakfast was cereal, bagels, toast, oatmeal. We were on our way to Yellowstone and had we not already had reservations elsewhere, we would have seriously contemplated staying more than one night.

You won't be disappointed staying here. Nice rooms, old west theme hotel. Clean. Breakfast minimal and nothing to rave about. New hotel in a complex of cabins. Friendly and helpful front desk. Also, Proud Cut Saloon has great steaks...rib eye especially.

My 12-year-old son and I spent two nights at the Cody Legacy Inn. We were coming straight from having spent three nights in a cabin in Yellowstone, and were looking forward to comfy beds and a full-size shower. The Cody Legay Inn easily delivered that, and more. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, the rooms were spacious and clean, the hot tub was relaxing, and the location was convenient to the downtown area.

The only negatives I had during our stay were the bathroom fan and our first floor room. The fan, which was noisy, ran continuously, and seemed to have no way to turn it off (I closed the bathroom door, but I could still hear the hum). And because we had a first floor room, we could hear the people above us clunking around their room--not what I wanted to hear at 11 p.m. Once I finally fell asleep, though, that was a moot point.

Stayed here for 1 night in a room with a King Bed. The hotel staff was friendly and accommodating. The room was huge (bed, tv, dresser, desk, 2 chairs) and had lots of space. The bathroom was also very nice and clean. The bed was so big and comfortable that I slept for 11 hours straight. Very quiet and peaceful.

Breakfast was just ok. They did have fresh fruit (I took an apple) and assorted teas, which were nice. The rest were mainly pastries and other carbohydrates. Note: no elevator, so if you are staying on the 2nd floor, you've got to carry your own bags up.

We stayed 5 nights at the Cody Legacy Inn. Very satisfied with our visit. Staff was very friendly and rooms were very clean. Rooms were well-equipped with a western theme. Outdoor swimming pool was clean and warm. Only comment would be the breakfast area was pretty small.
We throroughly enjoyed out stay in the Cody Legacy Inn.
