“Perfect old school motor lodge vibe”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 30, 2014

Don't expect the Ritz, but do expect a pleasant, comfortable and nostalgic motor lodge experience.

Second floor room (no elevators so prepare to lug your luggage), accessed from an excellent, wide walkway that has a great view of the mountains and surroundings.

The room was sparse and low budget, but like I said, don't expect the Ritz. It looked clean, smelled clean, tasted clean (kidding...). High ceilings in the room gave it a spacious feel too.

Decorations were rustic, bathroom toiletries were modest, bedding was comfy and carpeting was borderline indoor/outdoor. Again, totally within the old school motor lodge vibe so I dug it all.

Motel is conveniently located on the main drag, a stones throw away from a Walmart and Arby's The local rodeo grounds are walking distance (in fact we could hear the rodeo announcer in the distance during the local show).

Best thing about this hotel was they used actual keys. It was fun showing my 14-year old and the other high school photography students how hotels actually used keys in the past. Dug it. Oh yeah, no flat screens here. Old school cathode ray tube tv's mounted up high in the corner.

If the owners updated this place I'd be a bit depressed to see it got all modern and spiffy. If you want to stay in a cookie cutter hotel, find a Hampton or Holiday Inn Ex.

Room Tip: No elevator, so pack light. Get a room facing the mountains on the second floor.

From the free horse back rides ever night around dinner to the playground and pool this has kid's written all over it. The staff was very friendly and kept the pool open 24 hours because it was so hot! Fresh towels were always available with laundry on sight. They do not offer a breakfast but they did have coffee ready every morning. The beds are amazingly comfortable and a nice change from hotel beds. Short drive to the river with lots of access for fishing and less than a block from the rodeo grounds. However if you are looking to walk to the Buffalo Bill museum or dinner than this is not the hotel for you. But you really cannot beat the quiet location and close driving distance to everything you need. The rooms were very large with a variety of sleeping options.

Room Tip: Second floor corner room near horses was incredibly quiet!

This guy stayed a year ago how could he give a resonable review a year later, " wasn't nice but he would stay again" does that sounds about right? Do you go into a restaurant say its want good and go right back in makes no sense but thanks for the effort Bill Hope you enjoyed Yellowstone

We were looking for somewhere to stay in Cody while spending 2 days in Yellowstone. For the price you can't beat it. The rooms were small but had 2 queen beds in them and we were also given a cot at no charge due to our teenagers not wanting to sleep in the same bed. It is not fancy but if your looking for a clean, quiet place to sleep while visiting the park, this is your place. We were also able to fill our cooler with ice for $1.75. The kids swam in the pool one evening and were happy. Complimentary coffee is served at 7:30 am, or you can go across the street to the restaurant. Our in wall air conditioner worked great although it was only 80 during the day.

What a great independent motel! We had comfy beds as well as a fridge and microwave. There is a little playground and a pool so my kids were thrilled. The decor is adorable and you can tell the owners take pride in their business. It was clean and everything worked. I would not hesitate to stay there again!
