“Great Museum!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 6, 2013

My husband and I visited this attraction and LOVED it. We love anything to do with the old west. I thought that the Yellowstone part of the museum was the most impressive, because the detail put into the taxidermy was extremely impressive. We enjoyed Buffalo Bill's special museum but opted to skip the wildlife art part because we were short on time. We truly loved it and the people were extremely nice there!

“A museum for non-museum tourists!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 6, 2013

I'm not always interested in museums, but this one was very interesting, diverse content, beautiful displays, fascinating history. Not all just Buffalo Bill stuff, but much more. Well worth it.

“Seriously Objectionable”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 3, 2013

We enjoyed visiting several sections of the center especially the firearms and Buffalo Bill sections. But we were seriously disappointed that the center attempts to restrict personally carried firearms while visiting. For an organization that charges to see historic firearms to practice a gun control restriction is seriously objectionable. If you have a choice you should consider the Western Heritage Center in Oklahoma City instead where gun control is not an issue. Supposed “gun free zones” only create easy targets of law-abiding citizens who otherwise could be armed against typical mentally unbalanced killers that pay not attention to signs and laws. Joseph L. “Very large and beautiful museum, take your time because you need it.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 1, 2013

This is an amazing museum with so much to see that you need a lot of time. That is why the ticket you buy is valid for two days. You get to see five museums under one roof.

The Draper Natural History Museum with a very good and educational display of all that is going on in nature in the Yellowstone region. Beautiful galleries with a wealth of information.

The Buffalo Bill Museum with an exhausting display of artefacts from the great Buffalo Bill who travelled the world with his shows.

The Whitney Western Art Museum with a fine collection of art, very tasteful on display in the galleries.

The Plains Indian Museum with many, many artefacts from the (lost) Indian culture and a large theatre where the story of the Indian tribes with a light show is told.

The Cody Firearms museum with the history of gun making and a huge collection of weapons. The 1st floor carries 1500+ weapons and when that is not enough there are more on the 2nd floor.

For the researchers who want to go deeper into matters there is the McCracken Research Library.

When you are visiting don't forget the outside sculpture garden.

There is a nice eatery and café for sandwiches and more

“beautifull museum”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 1, 2013

A museum which you have to visit. Much bigger than expected but it's worth stopping and taking your time. Nice overview of buffalo bills life and gun museum is really interesting.
Also the section about the Indian life is good.
