“Excellent!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 1, 2011

What a wonderful trip to Cody we had! The stay here at this lodge was friendly and comfortable. We have been traveling for over 3 weeks now and the room was the cleanest and most comfortable out of our entire trip. I felt the need to share such a jem with more travelers! You will enjoy this lodge and where it is located!

We had a great time in Cody. The weather was cool so we decided to stay 2 days and take in the Buffalo Bill Center. The front desk clerk was very helpful with ideas and times to keep us busy. They recommended the Wyoming Rib for dinner the first night and it was excellent and we could walk. Nice downtown! The room was comfortable and very clean. The bed was great and we slept like logs. We were happy to see that they always had coffee on because we were chilled after we walked around. Nice place and the whole town is very friendly! We will be back!

Room Tip: Love the log ambience and the location. Lovely!

We were on motorcycles touring to Yellowstone from Nebraska and happened upon this hotel. What an excellent find! I have never stayed in a cleaner hotel room. The group of six couples all had an excellent night's sleep, great breakfast in the morning and a lovely chat with the evening desk clerks! What a great spot!

The water smells like rotting fish! We feel like we showered in a stale creek. Felt more like camping than a hotel. Furnishings were terribly outdated and uncomfortable. We stayed in a room set up for six, but there were only 4 towels and no bath mat at all. Not that there was any floor space to lay a mat. The toilet is so close to the tub that there is no space to towel dry without bumping the toilet. Also no counter space to lay out fresh clothes, fix hair or makeup or do anything else. I would not stay here again if they paid me!

My wife and I were touring the western U.S. on our motorcycles. We had stayed here a few years ago when it was a budget chain hotel, so we were familiar with it.

The up side: indoor pool and centrally located in mid town.

The down side: over priced, the continental breakfast was a joke (how can you ruin a basic continental breakfast? Not ready on time and didn't have the items that was described. We were told the manager was going to bring them in when they came to work). Laundry was very expensive, even for just one load. The indoor pool was not heated.

In an effort to provide more for our guests at a better rate we did choose to become an independent property again. During your prior stay with us our rates were higher as we were a franchise at that time. So I am confident that you found the new lower rates desirable. Our breakfast includes white and wheat toast, locally made muffins and donuts, fresh fruit, hard boiled eggs, orange juice, coffee and tea. The indoor pool is heated to the Wyoming State preferred temperature of 86 degrees. I apologize if this was not a temperature you found to be comfortable. We do value your input and when possible we use this input to make changes to better suit our customers needs. Thank you for traveling to Cody Country!

4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 19, 2010

We arrived in Cody without reservations and were able to find a room at Moose Creek. The hotel appearance has an attractive appearance and the room was nice as well. There was plenty of space (had a 1 queen bed room) for our belongings and there was even a mini fridge in it. The room was clean as well. We enjoyed the location as we were able to walk downtown to explore the businesses, restaurants and bars there. The only complaints were the noise from the room above. And, as others have noted, the breakfast fare was rather sparse but that seems to be commonplace at most hotels anymore. Overall, we enjoyed our stay here.
