“Unique”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 8, 2013

This hotel is hard to find on usual websites like hotels.com or expedia. But it is very unique, all by itself in a bear-area. Almost as if you are in the national park itself. No lights nearby at night, so you can see a zillion stars. Wooden cabins. Good food. Very different experience. Just 2 miles from east entrance.

Room was very small. Very small bath. Locks were dissatisfactory. Very noisy. Finally got to sleep around 12 Midnight only to be awakened about 12:30 am by guests checking in same tee pee with adjoining room. No TV in room, no coffee until 7:00 am. (awake at 6:00). Food not good. Tough chicken. Service in dining for Dinner was good, food expensive and not very good.
Would not stay here again!! bkkillingsworth@aol.com

Lots of pros and cons of this place:

I'll start with the cons:

Our A frame was tiny...seriously small, to be fair that was stated on the website.
The lamp was hanging by a thread and covered in bugs.
It's pretty old, no tv very much like a cabin in the woods

Pros:
Restaurant is great! Huge portions, decent prices...and truly amazing/fun staff!
The bed was actually really comfortable as well.

I would go back to the bar restaurant but I wouldn't stay there again.

We arrived late so did not get to meet the staff until check out. The room was in a cabin, small with two queen beds in it but very enjoyable. One of the best starlight views I have seen in a long time, almost comparable to the Grand Canyon at night. Check out was easy and the location was literally right outside the east entrance to Yellowstone. Price was not bad either.

Our family of two adults and a 10 year old stayed one night in cabin 46 at a rate of $184.95. The spacious log cabin had a king bed, two side tables, two lamps, a safe, a broken armchair, a small desk and chair, and two dressers. The king bed was covered with a cotton comforter that appears to have had at least 2,000 washes in its lifetime. Underneath was a flat sheet (no fitted sheet) that barely fit the bed and felt sandy. There was no refrigerator, but a dust covered coffee/tea maker was on the dresser with two paper cups containing the last guest's peach pits. Near one of the dressers were beer bottle caps that the last guest also left behind. The ceiling fan was caked with dust so we did not use it. The bathroom's laminate flooring is worn and needs maintenance. The jets in the jacuzzi/shower need cleaning. Some flies, spiders, and moths in the room. Although this cabin's simplicity is a plus, its level of cleanliness is a big minus. Also, the registration desk is understaffed. We checked in around 8 pm and waited 10-15 minutes. We checked out around 10 am and waited 15-20 minutes. The one thing that this facility has going for it is its location--2.2 miles from the Yellowstone East Entrance! The second thing is the restaurant where they served a reasonable and delicious breakfast. We ordered a kid's dollar cakes (6) with two strips of bacon for $4.95, two eggs with hash browns and english muffin for $6.95, and a three egg omelet with hash browns and english muffin for $8.50.

1st of all, we just were able to call and get a room, that's pretty amazing in itself! Great location and beautiful views from all over the lodge. The room was perfect and simple, that's what we were looking for while staying in the wilderness! The food was great, housekeeping was quick and thorough, everyone was super friendly. I would highly recommend this place, the location is perfect! And no wifi was even better if you ask me, who needs a phone on vacation?!

Room Tip: I would suggest room 50 or any above the lodge, the views were wonderful and it was really private t...

Toured Yellowstone Park this was the worst place we stayed. Small little cabin with hard double bed, flat pillows, spiders in room got the explanation in the mountains well you can still try to get rid of spiders , needs repairs done to cabins. 175 + tax come on not worth 50.00. When we go again we will stay in Cody not here. Great motels in Jackson Hole and West Yellowstone for even less money.
