“The best place to stay in Cody area.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 22, 2010

Located approximately 12 miles from Cody and on the way to the Yellowstone National Park this little place with a seductive setting is a real gem.
The cabins are good size, super clean and done up like a place to live rather than a one night stop. We were going to leave the following day but the beds were so comfy and the hostess was so welcoming that we simply could not tear ourselves away.
It is set a short drive away from the main road so no traffic noise. We slept like babies on both nights. In fact, it was the best sleep we had during our 2 weeks holiday.
In the morning we had breakfast just outside our cabin and a small rabbit came over and sat by our feet. It was a wild rabbit, but he was clearly used to people. We also saw a coyote and some antelopes grazing in the fields.
The Red Pole ranch is not just a great place to stay , it also has the most gorgeous setting. The views from our cabin were breathtaking. We would defiantly go back.

Patty Jo and Don are the most welcome hosts we've ever had! They went out of their way on several occasions to make our stay not only enjoyable, but memorable. They offered many suggestions from horseback riding to the rodeo in Cody.

Rooms were very clean and roomy. The kitchenette we stayed in was perfect for the 2 nights we ate in our room. Bathroom was HUGE and looked newly remodeled!

Our family loved sightseeing around Buffalo Bill State Park, right next door to the Ranch, and feeding the horses in the Ranch's stables.

With horses to pet, fantastic views of Western Wyoming, 30 minutes to Yellowstone and great service, this is the place to stay!

My boyfriend and I loved our stay at the Red Pole Lodge. The cabins are nestled at the base of beautiful mountains between Cody Wyoming and Yellowstone National Park. The location was wonderful and easily accesible to both places! The cabins are super cute and cozy as well as being very affordable. We enjoyed sitting on the porch watching the sunrise, listening to the wildlife. The owners Patty Jo and Don are especially friendly and accomidating. We couldn't have asked for a better stay on our Wyoming road trip:)

Anyone who says anything negative about the Red Role Ranch must not be talking about the same place we stayed. The Red Pole Ranch was outstanding--clean, comfortable, roomy and well-equipped. Patti Jo was an oustanding host, going far beyond the call of duty to make our stay memorable and comfortable. Free Wi-Fi is available at the office, not in the room. TV was great! Bring a little mosquito spray if you plan to be outside in the late afternoon. I hope we'll be able to stay at the Red Pole Ranch again.

We made our reservation back in Jan. with Patti. I personaly talked to her on the phone 3 different times. offered to send a deposit on two rooms for a 5 day stay and she said it was not nessasary. When we arrived at the ranch Patti stated she had no rooms and never offered any help at all to find us accommodations. She was very rude to us. I would not recommend this Place to anyone. After traveling 1600 miles to get to Cody on motorcycles they just turned us away.

This Illinois woman (biker) was already angry when she got off her motorcycle! (Reminded us of a "Bitin' Fightin' Sow on the fight right off!) She and her group walked into our office and she stated that she had a reservation at our place! Patty Jo looked in the book and couldn't find her name, and asked if she was SURE that she was at the right place. She said she thought she was, but hadn't sent a deposit (we don't operate without deposits) and she also wanted to know where our RESTAURANT was? We knew right then and there that she was at the wrong place! There has never been a restaurant at our place of business, so Patty sent her to the YVI, just down the road where it turns out she truly HAD a reservation and they have a restaurant. Why this person wanted to write a bad report about our place is beyond me-maybe because she was so embarrassed by the rest of the group for not knowing the real name of the motel/ranch, she had made reservations at. We were actually glad they didn't have a reservation at our place-she was just looking to vent her frustrations on someone and we were handy!

Patti and Don were excellent host. Patti made a great vacation a super vacation. With all her chores she was always available with answers of places to see outside of Yellowstone and local places to eat. At night she offered a fire to sit beside and exchange stories. The cabins are well equiped and very coay. My family and I want to go back just as soon as we can to see the Great Yellowstone and will most difintely be staying at THE RED POLE RANCH!!! THANKS again for a great vacation and I have recommeded you to alot of people.
Hope to see again within a couple of years!!!

We reserved a room with our M.Card over 3 weeks ago at the Red Pole for last night, Sept 11, 2009. At 7 pm Patti Joe called us and said she did not have a room for us. We were in Cody, had just eaten and were on our way to their Motel. We were so excited to go up the canyon and stay near the mountains. We had called at 2 pm while on the road from Billings, Mt. and said we were on way.
Needless to say, we had trouble finding anohter room last minute and were very upset. We even called her back and told her she needed to help us out with a recommendation or something, since she left us in the lurch. She hung up on us. DON'T STAY HERE!!!!!!!

My wife Patty Jo called this person early this day (Sep 11) to tell her that she wasn't having any luck clean ing up a room that a child had "gotten sick" in the night before-the smell was lingering and the room needed more scrubbing and "airing-out"! These folks from California demanded a different room, but we had no others available here (our place is very small-only 8 units and the rest were filled with fishermen and Long-term stays)! The whole valley and Cody had rooms available and Patty called a large resort just two miles away, to inquire whether they had rooms available and they had many of them, and she let the California guests know. She also called our good friends' lodge nearer to Yellowstone and they also had rooms available. This lady wanted THIS room because of it's proximity to Cody. My Patty Jo has had a 96% approval rating only because she is a wonderful person and goes "out of her way" to please our guest and has never "hung up" on anyone but Telemarketers!!
