“Very interesting and detailed”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 19, 2013

This display is in the back room of a small gift shop. It is free to go to, you can make a donation. They have a laminated, two-sided page that explains what you're looking at in the diorama and the history. The diorama is large, fills around 10 X 30-40 foot area in the center of the room. Around the sides of the room are various artifacts of Indians and the West. The diorama starts from the 1500 to 1600's when white man first came to the west and met the Indians and goes through major battles or events up to the 1900's. It's quite detailed and I found it very interesting, however I do like history and miniatures. You find the event on the laminated sheet and on the back of the sheet it will tell you what event you're looking at and when it occurred. I really enjoyed it!

“Fantastic, not to be missed. Native American collection list rivals some museums”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 14, 2013 via mobile

Went to see this on the advice of the owners at the campground and so glad we did. The shop itself was full of the usual tourist items plus rather unexpectedly about 50 or so stuffed game heads, with local as well as African ones, first time I've seen a giraffe head along side a kudu, in a gift shop in rural America.
Anyway the collection itself is marvellous, in a huge room with the centre of the room given over to the miniature representation of the history of the area. Could quite happily visit several times to fully appreciate the whole collection of artifacts.
The owner has been collecting them for over forty years and has been displaying the collection for twenty.
Well worth a visit and it's free, you can make a donation though if you've enjoyed it which we certainly did.

“Enjoyable surprise”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 11, 2013

TYhis place is loczatted within a typical tourist trap. BUT it surpriseed and amazed all four of us. Ignoring the artificial displays, it still contained many original artifactys and has factual history for each. I STRONGLY rfecommednd you stop here.

“History in Miniature”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 8, 2013

Lots of artifacts, great mini display encompassing a lot of history, with voice explanation of what you were looking at. Absolutely take the kids, and learn a lot yourself!

“Maybe miniature however”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 7, 2013

A museum within a trading post. No fee however donations gratefully accepted. They have a placard that you can use as a guide as you walk through the museum. There is also a recording at various sections of the miniature layout - which is very impressive. Also impressive are the many artifacts from the native Americans that were on the lands in the area. Personally, for us the native artifacts spoke loudly on how they wasted little. A nice exhibit and good for those with chlldren.
