“Good place to get off the interstate”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 22, 2013 via mobile

Road crews were working on a few miles of the road when I was there in Aug. Even with that, a very pleasant drive and very scenic.

“Beautiful drive on Wyoming Highway 210”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 29, 2013

We drove from Cheyenne to Laramie to take the back way home to Denver (287 instead of I-25) and decided to take this northern route between the cities. It was beautiful, there weren't any semis and if it hadn't had been windy, we might've done some hiking. They were some paving projects going on, but they weren't active on Saturday and it made the road much nicer to drive. You pass by some reservoirs and by a state park. I've heard there's some good mountain biking and you could swing by Vedauwoo if you wanted to drive some dirt roads to get there. You do hit the highway right above Laramie for a short stint, or one could make it a loop and drive the highway back to Cheyenne I suppose.

“Fantastic scenery”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 2, 2013

This road, route 210, is a wide road with very little traffic. It is an alternative to Route 80 - a highway - to go between Cheyenne and Laramie. We are so glad we chose this road and will visit again ... the next time we'll be on our Goldwing.

We stopped at Curt Gowdy State Park along the way, and wanted to see the rock formations at Veaduwee also, but we didn't see the turn for that, even though we were told to look for it on the left, just east of the state park.

“Scenic beauty away from the Interstate”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 24, 2013

If you are going to/from Laramie and Cheyenne avoid Interstate 80 and take 210, Happy Jack Road through the Medicine Bow National Forest. Well, not that much forest but gorgeous landscapes and rock formations. Start or end you journey at the Summit rest stop (just off I-80)with the huge Abe Lincoln statue and monuments to the old Lincoln Highway. Excellent natural history and cultural history displays at the Visitor's Center.

For the motorcyclist this is the route to take. Changing elevations and nice twisties. But beware of possible high winds especially at the exposed bluffs. Road surface is excellent as portions have been or are being renewed in 2013.

“Better than I-80”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 19, 2013

If you want a quick respite from driving on I-80, take the roughly 40 mile trip on Happy Jack Road (Hwy 210) from Cheyenne to exit 323. It provides a better view of the surrounding mountains and gives you the feeling of the true openness of Wyoming.

It ends right at the Lincoln Memorial rest area.

The only downside is there are two connecting roads between I-80 and Happy Jack but they are not very well marked and not paved (gravel / dirt).
