First off finding the office was strange because it was in the diner across the parking lot and where you would pay your meal tab. Second off, they did not have our reservation which was made 5 mos. ahead of time. Third off, they seemed shocked that our reservation price was quoted quite low when in fact it was the price quoted in several different brochures. Fourthly, our rooms were at the back of the hotel which is reached by a walkway several feet (approx. 4-5 ft) off the ground. Therefore, no place to park near the room. The entire floor plan of this hotel is totally wired and so many smokers hanging around the outside that you could not walk from your room to the car without walking through smoke. The room was clean with good lighting however, I would not stay here again.

Stopped here just overnight during a recent trip from Denver to the Black Hills. Room was small, but clean, nicely furnished, and had a refrigerator.
On the down side, management was a bit disorganized. Made the reservation by phone, received a booking number but no e-mail confirmation. When I called a week later to inquire, they could find no record of the booking number or reservation. Apparently the person who took the first call was not experienced in recording reservations! Anyway, the second time, the lady who took the call was kind enough to extend a slight discount because of the misunderstanding and provided an e-mail confirmation. Unfortunately, when we arrived around 4 pm, they did not have a room ready, and we could not check in until 5:30. I would like to think that our problems were not typical for this hotel! After we finally did check in, the service was pretty good.
Best part of the deal were the breakfast coupons they gave us for the 50's-style diner operated by the hotel. Food was outstanding, and the service was very good.
Important to keep in mind that most hotels in Cheyenne are over-priced. Despite the problems with reservations and check-in, I would definitely stay here again for the less extravagant rate and the great breakfast!
If you do choose this hotel, be aware that the "front desk" for check-in is in the diner!

We did not stay at the Oak Tree Inn in Cheyenne WY, even though we had pre-paid confirmed reservations through hotel.com, the hotel management did not honor our reservation. The attitude given by the hotel management was “Oh Well – It’s your problem.” It was very strange to deal with the Hotel Management in the Diner next to the hotel. It appearst the hotel overbooked due to weather conditions. Just because it was pre-paid, does not mean this hotel will honor your reservation. We drove another 50 miles and stayed in Laramie, WY.

The hotel is clean and our room was excellent. Check in was a bit odd as it takes place in the diner which is situated on the parking lot. The receptionist had gone for a ciggie break so we had to wait ten minuites for her to come and check us in. After driving all day this wasn't very proffesional. Breakfast was taken in the diner, and we were given a ticket with a value to cover a breakfast. I am strict vegetarian and was a bit worried what i could have but they were more than happy to do me some toast.

The beds are so cheap there is no way to wake up without a backache.

The room appeared clean, but the DNA visible on the desk chair was pretty bad. There was no notepad or pen in the room.

The staff was very friendly and accommodating.

Having to check in at the nearby restaurant was not conducive to prompt check-in.

Since it is a non-smoking facility, it isn't pleasant to see the employees gathered in front of the motel smoking.

As the title implies, the beds were very comfortable and the shower was very nice. The room could have been cleaner though as the coffee pot (mug) was dirty with dried on coffee, windows and window ledges were VERY dirty and the floor was not properly vacuumed. As stated in previous reviews, the diner had good food, was nostalgic and is open 24 hours. It is a little off the I-25 path but not hard to find. The rooms were very spacious with a refrigerator.

Perfect location on our trip to Yellowstone & the Tetons from the Midwest. Decent price. Spacious, clean rooms, and the diner was great, as advertised. Room had a mini-fridge and microwave, which was nice!

Room Tip: Eat at the diner for breakfast. Great service & good food.
