Talk about Windy City, Cheyenne is one of the windiest towns I've ever been in and I've been in Chi-town!
I stayed at the FairField Inn to build on my Marriott points. I didn't expect much as I thought it was an old hotel that just slapped the name to their building. Boy was I wrong!
At check-in I was greeted by some very friendly women. They got me my room and were very nice. I was told that they offered a complimentary breakfast (which consisted of wrapped honey buns, donuts and danishes, plus cereal/milk and apples).
I checked into my room not expecting much, but I was surprised. I had a very nice comfortable queen bed, seat and desk chair. The view was not bad, at least I saw things and not just another building right in front of my window. Had a good number of cable channels, not just 10 as I've experienced before at other places.
The hotel is located on Dell Range road and there's plenty to eat and shop at. Walgreens and Applebees are on the same block, across the street there's a Chili's and Frontier Mall with Sears and JCPenney making their signs visible from the hotel. If you go just behind the hotel to the west there's an Office Depot and Culver's (great burger joint) and go east on Dell Range and you have all other sorts of restaurants and shopping stores, such as Target, WalMart, Sam's, King Soopers and plenty more shops.
I'd definitely stay here again as it is just so close to many restaurants and shopping stores. Hold on to your hat and try not to lose any papers as the wind will blow them away.
One negative on this, there's only three floors to the hotel, but the ice and vending machines are only located on the main floor, right next to the indoor pool and hot tub.
