“Great deal for the price”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 31, 2010

We stayed here for one night. We were traveling across the states and didn't want to spend too much money on hotels. After reading the reviews here, I booked a room. The staff here are very nice and helpful. My son lost his gameboy between checking in and making it to the room. They offered to help us look for it. We did find it in his stuff in the room!! The rooms decorations are outdated - but for the price I didn't care. The rooms were clean and that is what really matters to me. We ate dinner at the cafe connected to the hotel and the food was great! Both our kids had a blast in the pool. The location was great for us - it was right off the freeway. If you need to stay some place and don't want to spend an arm and a leg - this is a great place!

If you need anything more than a basic check-in and check-out, then this is absolutely NOT the place to stay. Front desk personnel are totally clueless and are unable to communicate with other members of the staff - mainly hosekeeping. Even the simplest of tasks, like getting you into a room that has already been prepared by housekeeping - rather than making you wait for the one you were assigned when you made your reservation - is totally beyond their capabilities. I know it's hard to hire people in Casper who aren't total meth-heads or have patch-trash attitude to work at these places, but for god's sake, they could do better than what they have now. They made us come back three times to check in because our room supposedly 'wasn't ready' yet. They told us it would be ready in an hour. Then it would be ready in another hour. Fortunately the desk manager was there on our third return and told the chic working the desk to give us a different room. Which she did ... easily. Seems so simple, doesn't it?
Unfortunately when the Texans gave this hotel back to the original owner, they didn't take enough of the loser staff with them, and so the Parkway still has issues with customer service. I'm sure they'll be weeded out eventually, I just hope it happens before I go back to Casper. I really like the Parkway because of its location and amenities. The Coffee Shop and Lounge are great (glad the Texans and their managers didn't mess up those parts) and the housekeeping staff was very nice and friendly. But the front desk is a mess and incapable of problem solving without being told what to do by a supervisor. With all of the hotel choices there are to choose from in Casper, you'd think the Parkway would be trying harder.
Last thing, they need to seriously get rid of the 40 year old shower curtain rods on their narrow tubs. When you take a shower, the wet curtain hangs all over you because the tubs are narrow and it really makes taking a shower miserable. The Parkway is really losing it.

We were here with a group, so we did not pick the hotel. It is a VERY dated hotel and need updated. The carpet in the halls and rooms were stained and the halls needed vacuumed. In the first room they gave us there was no elevator to the 3rd floor and the stairs WERE DIRTY, then the bathroom door wouldn't shut so we asked for another room. Well the upgraded room (?) they gave us smelled. Even a couple of the pillows on the bed smelled. Needless to say, we left the next morning without eating their free breakfast. I know the hotel needs updated, but it was not clean and the security doors going to the outside did not lock .

We had a king sized bed which was comfortable, the room was quiet, not a lot of noise from other guests except for doors slamming. stayed towards the back of the hotel so no road noise. Room was clean, employees were pleasant. Had several people t the motel for a ham radio convention. Conference rooms were pleasant and the cateed food was good. Had good check in location and lots of lobby and hallway room for visiting. The elevator doors were very quick to close with a big bang and getting in and out of the elevator was scarey.

Having read some of the reviews about the Parkway Plaza, I was prepared for and expecting the worst. This was not the case. The worst thing about the hotel is that the decor is dated and some parts of the facility are starting to show there age.

I experienced none of the negatives that were reported by others. My room was clean. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The food was fine.

The rate I paid was $70 per night for a conference and I can't complain about anything. If you are expecting a 5 star hotel, this is not your choice. If you want a clean room to sleep in, this works really well.

I do a lot of business in Wyoming, ND, and SD and stay in Casper 4-5 times a year. I always try to stay at the Parkway Plaza Hotel and Convention Center. It is handy to get to - right off the I-25 corridor. The rooms are clean, it is quiet, and the staff tries to make your stay comfortable. There is a nice restaurant and bar on the property.

We arived in Casper, which we grew up, to all new hotel's that were $135 ish and I about passed out. The majority of them were sold out due to a Rodeo event. Went to the Parkway where we were greated (thank you Kathy) and immidiatly took care of. The price was $85 and they got us right in to a clean, cozy room. The indoor pool was great for the kids. A cool put-put facility is right next door. We have previously had 2 of their honeymoon suits which I highly recommend. The facility is older and is not in the shape a new building is, but man the service and hospitality is well worth it. The rooms were quite, in good shape and made visiting family a success. Thanks everyone at the Parkway.
