We loved the atmosphere, the gracious folks that waited on us and the food was very good. Was very impressed with the quality of this establishment.

“Good Food, Great Stop for a Group or Individual”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 4, 2012

We stopped at the Occidental Hotel and Virginian Restaurant with a group of Slightly Older Adults. The food was good and the price was fair. We especially enjoyed the owner greeting our group and telling us some of the history of the hotel; that made it very special for our group.

The food was plentiful and we did enjoy it, however, the treat was the Occidental Hotel. The furnishings from the period are so special, everyone in the group (30 of us) raved about going back.

I own my bus company and am going to return to set up another group to this wonderful place.

“Historical Dining”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 3, 2012

As part of t he Occidental Hotel, my wife and I decided we had to eat here. Guests and visitor's who visited this establishment are the 'A' list of famous old west names. The bar is original and there are bullet holes in the walls. The restaurant was busy the night we ate. The decor was a mix of bygone time periods. The food was very good. We each had N.Y. steaks, which were tasty and cooked to our liking. The accompaniments were also very good. While not the best steak I've ever had, the old west history and charm of this place made it all worth while!

“Great food & great atmosphere”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 31, 2012

This is an eclectic restaurant with a menu to match. But every meal that anyone in my family has had here has been outstanding. In addition, there are lots of interesting little nooks and crannies where tables are located that give you some degree of privacy, if that's what you want. Prices, too, are not overly high.

“Overpriced, with lousy service and worse food.”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed August 28, 2012

I've eaten in dives- and you expect them to be dives when you walk in. If the food surprises you, so much the better, and it's usually cheap as a bonus. This place fits exactly the opposite mould- Expensive as all get out, irritable waitstaff, and the food was so bad that neither me or my wife could even finish it. I've eaten on four continents, so I have a wide-ranging palate...but the food here would require a palate seared on a cast iron skillet in order to stomach it. Blech. Worse than that was the price they charged for serving up yucky food with a side order of "you should feel privileged to eat here, vermin" by the waitress. Never again.
