“Cozy cabins .. vintage road trip fun!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 20, 2013 via mobile

The cabin was small but very cute. Clean and comfortable with small fridge and microwave made it the perfect over night place to stay. We don't drink coffee but several people recommended the little coffee shop in the office area. Very friendly owners.

The only issue is that our cabin had a foundation issue because it had a bit of a slant to floor. We felt it just added to the character of the place. Also, the beds were not the most supportive.

Needed a dry, comfortable place after five days of backpacking in nearby Cloud Peak Wilderness. Very clean and quiet. Reasonable cost for a cabin. Friendly owners/staff. Fridge in cabin but no microwave. Office had microwave to use. Great coffe in the morning. Would certainly stay again.

I have stayed at Blue Gables 3 times now and the place just never disappoints.. The flowers that the owners have planted over the years are beautiful, the cabins are your own little retreat. The owners take very good care of the place with well maintained, clean rooms, a nice little pool, grills to grill food if you like and a campfire to sit around at night makes this place a wonderful place to stay.
Its location just past the main street makes for a great location as not much traffic goes by the hotel because most traffic turns at the light.

Room Tip: All the cabins are quiet but there are cabins that are lined against the back 4-10 if you want to be...

While driving from Deadwood, SD on our way to Yellowstone, trying to stay ahead of an approaching storm, we came across the Blue Gables Motel. It looked very appealing. The cabins were very cute, very clean, and very cosy. As the storm raged outside we were warm and snug inside and had the best night's sleep on one of the most comfortable hotel beds to date on our trip. The price was reasonable, although a continental breakfast would have been nice! the cabin sites were surrounded by lovely grassed areas and gorgeous fragrant flowers. there is also a lovely pool too. Karen the owner, was friendly and helpful and made us feel very welcome.Although we only stayed for one night we will definately stay there again next time we come back to the USA, as WY is our favourite places.

We stayed at the Blue Gables Motel while driving from Rapid City to Yellowstone, and were looking for a value for money place to stay along the way.

The site on which the cabins are situated is very attractive, with flowers and well cared for grassy areas and the pool was lovely - such a pleasure on a hot day.

The cabins themselves are small, but clean and functional, the wi-fi was quite slow but did work to an acceptable level if you sat in the covered area to the side of the pool (behind the office).

There is also a coffee shop on site where in addition you can also buy the most lovely fruit iced smoothies. Downtown Buffalo is within easy walking distance.

Our stay was also made extra special by the lovely people we met while staying at the Blue Gables, the owners were friendly and helpful, and we were also lucky to spend time with some of the other guests. All in all definitely recommended.

A friend and I were planning to spend the night in Casper, WY. But, there were no motels available because of a fair and rodeo in town. We got back on the interstate and headed north. When we arrived in Buffalo, we found out that there were no rooms available there either, with the exception of the Blue Gables Motel. There were only 2 rooms left and we took one of them. The room was clean and comfortable. The proprietors were friendly and helpful. But the biggest to us was that, out behind the motel, there was a fire burning and a group of bluegrass musicians were playing and singing! What a treat! We stumbled on this place by accident, but will come back here on purpose.

My family absolutely LOVES this place!! We visit the Blue Gables yearly and were absolutely devastated when we had to miss a year!! Not only are the cabins cute, VERY clean, and comfortable, but the owners Jim and Karen are absolutely WONDERFUL!!! We have visited them so many times that it feels like we are visiting family! The Blue Gables is located right in the heart of Buffalo, which makes it easy to walk to anything nearby. I highly recommend the Blue Gables, you will leave the rested and with some new friends!
