My husband and I stayed at Chula Vista Resort for one night for our anniversary, June 4th 2011. We decided to enjoy the benefits of a nice sit down restaurant rather than buffet style. Knowing it was gonna be a bit pricey, we decided on Kaminski Bros. Chop House anyhow.
Our server Sean, was absolutley wonderful! He was very well informed about the wine list, all the entree's and even the difference in each steak and the process in which they were prepared. We were allowed to try our bottle of wine before deciding, which was followed by a presentation in all the entrees offered. We ordered the calamari with peppers as an appetizer and combined with the homeade dipping sauce they were the best we had ever tasted. All entree's come with the "garbage salad"...again another presentation where you get to customize your own salad...by the way..if you like real bleu cheese..the best I've ever had..along with the house dressing. My husband chose the Ribeye..best he's ever tasted. I chose the King Crab legs...HUGE..and best I've ever had..which is funny seeing that this is Wisconsin and no where near the ocean. I had at least 2 pounds of crab meat leftover. We were way too full for desert, though I've heard excellent reviews about them.
We left very satisfied, in fact giddy..perhaps due to the bottle of wine? Either way, it was the best experience we've had dining in Wisconsin. Only downfall is everything is pretty pricey...our total bill came to about 200 (we were lucky to have 100 leftover on a giftcard). I would highly recommend the Kaminski Bros. Chop House to anyone...just be prepared to spend a bit of money. Remember if you are too full after dinner, there is a lovely river walk at the back of the resort, right outside from the restaurant. Wonderful service, atmosphere, and food!! Can't wait to go back!
