This was perfect!! It allowed our business to pull together an outing with ease and fun for all our staff and the wide range of kids ages too! We started it out by boarding the Safari Train. That was fantastic, we take off and soon find ourselves entering directing into the pastures with a herd of young African Antelope. We provided each of our guests with a cup of carrots to start the day off right and boy did it ever!!! The hoots and hollers began immediately!! Then we got off at the feeding deck where the mesmerizing gentle giants came up to us, allowing us to feed them and brush up to our faces giving us a huge giraffe butterfly kiss with their eyelashes!! Thats' a first for everyone in our group. Then we chose to enter the Park from this location. The camel rides were offered to some of them as the rest of us walked through a really nice display of exhibits throughout the woods. Not only were the information signs helpful but the contentment displayed in all of the animals was a pleasure to be around as well. If there were only 55 species of animals I think they had better recount - seemed like a lot more than that. The area's for the animals are pleasant for both the viewers and the animals - nice shade, waterfalls and ponds in the feline building and just overall serenity of nature. Our group next caught the music to the Pig Races, way cute and adorable skit lines to accommodate the pigs racing around the track. Just a pleasure - we all laughed with each other and enjoyed this so much. It gave us all the chance to degress and slow down. We went on to visit the Nursery area's. There were babies everywhere!!! A complete building full and then a petting zoo area. Not like anything else most of us ever experienced!!! Of course, we've all visited a zoo, ... but to be so close with most of the animals was just sheer joy! The pictures we got will make one of the best outing's we've EVER had! Some of us got to be involved with feeding the animals, that was quite special. Got to see the side of some of our staff that just don't give off their inner self. The serenity was wearing off on our group as well. One actually held a bottle for a 3 1/2 week old Camel. Wow!! We didn't want to leave this area. This went on for - what seemed - forever! Then another activity started which was where Wildlife animals were brought out and discussed. The seating area let us all rest our feet and enjoy it even more. We got to share in the joy of our little ones running up and being able to touch or pet them along with the warmth of the people putting the talk on, their knowledge was sincere and genuine.
We brought our coolers in and enjoyed lunch. Some of the kids still wanted some of the snacky type foods - like ice cream, etc... but that helped us provide our staff the train and carrots for everyone.
The gardens were spectacular, the waterfalls - just beautiful, the observatory tower was a great birdseye view of the Park. The exhibits of birds and mammals, along with the black swans roaming the grounds. It was GREAT!!! We were told it could fill a few hours, we ended up spending the entire day. The flexibility of the different timed activities didn't make us all feel like we were herded through like a bunch of cattle. We felt like we took a piece of the place home with us and our families when we left.
Is it done yet, ... not completely but my gosh - we sure were glad to get in while the prices were extremely affordable. We can't say enough about this facility! This was a beautiful display of a small family business allowing us all to enjoy in their love of unique, exotic animals with such a "hands-on" approach. We'll be back!!! Again and again!!!
