“Beautiful clean rooms and fun waterparks!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 16, 2011

We stayed at the Glacier Canyon Lodge portion of the Wilderness Resort in the Dells for two nights. We had a two bedroom which was amazing! It had a full clean kitchen fully stocked with everything you could possible need and granite counters! The decor was beautiful and very "woodsy"! Most importantly the room was spotless! No dirty socks in this room! It had a beautiful balcony off the king bedroom, two bathrooms, and the second bedroom had bunks with a double on bottom. The living room had a great flat screen tv with pay per view movies above the fireplace, a sleeper sofa, and a murphy bed encased in beautiful wood. It also had two chairs. There was a 4 seat breakfast bar adn 4 seat table made of beautiful wood. Our room was fabulous! We were also near the elevator on the top floor which was a great location. We never heard anyone! The resort is very spread out and walking around was hard to do without the map (and sometimes even using the map we could not find out way). There were many areas we didn't get to on this trip. However, the shuttle service was easy to use and fast. You simply call from the designated areas and a bus is there within a few minutes to take you wherever you wanted to go. We tried the indoor waterparks only because it was too cool outside for our small children. The wave pool was strong for our 5 year olds, but our 8 year olds loved it! The Wild West waterpark was our favorite! There were a few slides closed while we were there. The family slides were perfect for us and my older son could ride everything. Some slides and areas were showing some signs of wear and tear, but not enough to worry about now. We headed to the Wilderness on the Lake resort to use the waterpark there on the last day. This waterpark is for the smaller kids. It was ice cold but the lifeguard did say they were working on it. There was a large section of mold on the walkway. It should have been taken care of! The outdoor infinity pool was beautiful and the tiny tot waterpark outside was very warm and perfect for a 78 degree day. It was the only one we used outside. There was something for everyone in all the different waterparks. The indoor climbing, ball shooting area was a lot of fun. The glow golf was good too. I do not think I would recommend this resort for the winter, only because you had to take the shuttles and going outside wet in the winter would be miserable. For spring, summer, and fall, this resort would be a great place to visit and I highly recommend it! We plan on going back soon!

Room Tip: Stay at Glacier Canyon, not the Wilderness rooms!

This was not my first trip to the Wilderness Resort. We have stayed at the Wilderness on the Lake & Glacier Canyon Lodge. This resort is totally the best. All your fun is included. There are many water parks to choose from for every age. Our condo was clean & spacious. We had all the amenities of home (dishes & dishwasher, washer & dryer, stove, fridge, etc...). The wave pool is huge. There are many outdoor water parks as well as indoor parks. If it rains there are no worries. You will have plenty to do! There are some options for extras; however, they offer package deals. There is glow-in-the-dark mini-golf, laser tag, pottery painting, and an arcade to mention a few. The resorts are connected by walkways so if you don't mind walking you can go to each without even going outside.Otherwise there is a complimentary shuttle that goes between each resort that Wilderness has as well as the restaurant Monks which is on the premises. This resort is definitely worth staying at.

My family (incl. 21 mo old daughter, wife, and myself) spent one night recently at Glacier Canyon Lodge, in part for a wedding that was being held at their Conference Center. In summary, we enjoyed most parts of our stay. We split a 2 bedroom suite on the 4th floor with my brother and his family (4 adults and 1 child total). The rooms are nicely appointed with full kitchen, nice large flat screen tv and nice sitting area, and a fold down bed (which my wife and I slept on) with curtain that pulls across for privacy. We really thought the curtain was a nice touch since who wants people waking up looking at you sleeping in the living room?

The wedding we attended was outdoors at the Conf. Center with the reception indoors there. Both were very convenient to our room. On our checkout day, we used one of the outdoor waterparks at the facility and really enjoyed it, esp the lazy river which was long and had many twists and turns, one of the best I have ever been on.

The parts of our stay that were not as good were fairly minor. The resort is VERY large and results in a LOT of walking to find anything or get anywhere, esp. the facilities/eateries at the adjacent Wilderness Resort. But oh well who doesn't need exercise? Also, we really wanted an hour later checkout on the day we were leaving, so we would have more time to use the waterpark and then be able to change in our room afterward. My wife called the front desk and we were promptly told no, the room was being used the next day. This, even when my wife mentioned the wedding party we were staying with. One would figure that relatives spending tens of thousands of dollars for a wedding/reception at the facility would be enough to get a small perk or two like a late checkout. But alas, to no avail.

All in all, nice stay, nice room, loved the waterpark, but customer service was average.

Perfect place to stay in the dells and by far, the nicest rooms and waterparks. We stayed in a Deluxe 2 bedroom and it was perfect and really nice and modern and very clean. OUr girls LOVED the bunk beds and we loved having a kitchen, deck and our own bedroom. Waterpark selection is amazing. You don't need to leave.

We had a 3 night stay and this resort and it was great. The rooms were super clean and the room was of perfect size the only downside is that the beds are very uncomfortable but other than that our stay was the best. We will def be going back soon!

Room Tip: The deluxe 2 bedroom condo is great

The hotel is a great place to go with a family. Everything is at your fingertip. You really do not need a car. However, the noisy is a pain from kids running down the halls at all hours of the night to thin ceiling and hearing the people above walk hard. The walls are paper thin. Bring head phones to sleep in to drown out the noise.
