The only thing that bugged us was the cleaning staff, who walk in whether the door be opened or locked without knocking early in the morning. They claimed that they needed to change the dirty towels but they failed to do that, instead they walked in to rooms where people were still asleep. I don't recall asking for a wake up call. . .

We have stayed at the Wilderness villas and hotel before so this time we thought we would try the one on the lake. WRONG MOVE !!!!!!!!!
The service is bad, and no one cares. We had some issues and we asked to talked to the manager and the front desk (guest services) told me and my husband that we could not speak to a manager. That the manager was at the other hotel and they don't come to this one because it is smaller. So we went to the other hotel and they were not available until the next morning at our hotel, well guess what it's 2 in the afternoon and they aren't here so I called and they said that the manager isn't available until the weekend.
For what we paid you would think some one would are wrong!
So a lot of money and no service don,t stay here you will regret it.
And proof is they won't respond to this review or do anything about it.

My family and I stayed at the Wilderness on the Lake Resort over the 4th of July (5 days......Sun. - Fri.). The rooms are gigantic which is great, but they are very beat up and the carpet is filthy. We were in a first floor two bedroom. We were told we would have a patio area to use for cooking out and that there were no family reunions that week so we should have tons of privacy. The staff at Wilderness on the Lake is very inexperienced and it is not hard to tell why they have so much turnover. All the info I called about prior to booking was entirely incorrect. There are five rooms that go out to this private patio I was told about. There were five tables each with four chairs. There were five grills. So you get the picture one of every patio fixture for each of the rooms. NOT ONE TIME DURING OUR ENTIRE STAY DID WE EVER GET TO USE OUR OUTDOOR PATIO TABLE OR CHAIRS! The reality is that there are big groups that take these, literally put their stuff on them overnight so that they have them the entire time. The staff is fine with this occurrence because when the table directly in front of our room was taken for the fourth day in a row we called the front desk. It was there we were told it was first come first serve. Ya, that's what I want to do, paying these prices to stay here......fight over patio furniture and grills. The patio was crowded with people right outside our room the entire stay. The water park was marginal at best compared to other places in town. The staff however really made our stay a bummer. Watch your bill upon checkout as well. I had a fifty some dollar charge on my bill for a restaurant we never even visited and their solution was to have me sit at the counter and wait while they checked people in while the restaurant got around to faxing over the charge. Finally, after a half hour of waiting they credited the charge back, but very sketchy. All in all for the money I think there are much better places to stay in the Dells.

Room Tip: If you want any privacy.......don't stay near the patio and read Trip Advisor tips thoroughly. T...

Loved our two bedroom condo. We had plenty of space to spread out our family of seven. The water taxi to the "main" water-parks at Wilderness was fun and fast. Captain Dave was awesome...playing our favorite "pontoon" song. Staff was friendly. The only reason had to take a star away was that their front desk staff needs more training on customer service. A large group had come from the other side of the resort to play 3D mini- golf (very fun by the way) which they were told is open til 10 (which is true). HOWEVER...they got there at 9:05pm and the gift shop which houses the golf clubs to play closes at 9pm. The kicker here is the front desk staff also runs the gift shop which is just a few steps from them...no doors between them and the gift shop check out. All they would have had to do is walk 5 steps and grab the clubs in the "closed" area. Needless to say they had a group of very displeased guest. Not what owners want to see. So everything else was great. The pools were busy but nothing unexpected it was peak season. We still had plenty of room to play.

We stayed at the Wilderness on the Lake June 30 - July 4, we had a 2 bedroom and a 3 bedroom condo. We thoroughly enjoyed the location and the access to the other water parks. This location only has a small kid friendly indoor and outdoor park and you need to take either the water taxi (fun) or shuttle to get to the bigger parks. This was fine for us as we had toddlers and the older kids and adults went on their own to the different parks. The Condos are spacious and the full kitchens were very useful. The outdoor patio with grills and fire-pits were a favorite gathering place. Highly recommend the Wilderness Resorts ! We will return.

This was our third and last visit to Wilderness on the Lake. It has lost its exclusiveness, too noisy and run-down! The people above us ran the hot tub late at night and early in the morning, we got about 3 hours of sleep each night. The kids room is near the hallway, I used a baby monitor and could hear people running through the halls all night long. I expect a little more for $350/ night, but if you can squeeze 9-10 people in each unit, not including those under 2, that really brings the price and clientele down. Rooms were run-down, shuttles, water taxi and boat rides full, pool was more crowded and people cursing like sailors. I used to think of this as a quiet hidden gem in the Dells to get away from the rest of the resort, not anymore.

Oh and room service consisted of stopping by the room dropping off towels and garbage bags.

ok so me and my 14 friends stayed at wilderness on the lake. there were 7 girls and 7 guys so everyone had to share a bed with someone which was fine. anyway the lobby to wilderness on the lake was very big and it looked quiet until other people got there to check in. we staying in the 3 bedroom lake condo with the loft. our condo/room was on the top floor. the condo was huge as hell i mean i almost got lost in it. the rooms were decorated really nice and it loooked very updated instead of old. since we stayed for a long time we had a kitchen in the condo which was good because we brought our own food to make and the kitchen came in handy. there was a small jacuzzi in the condo which was right outside the door of the master bedroom. the master bedroom had a huge king size bed that looked bigger than a king size and a big tv and a couple of lamps. there was a full bathroom in the master bedroom which was really big i mean the bathroom looked like a normal hotel room. the bathrooms in the condo were really clean and spacious. all of the beds were really extremely comfortable to where when u lay on them u instantly fall asleep. the pillows on the beds could have been better so just in case we all brought our own pillows. the sheets on the bed were white and there were no stains at all on the sheets. there were no stains on the pillow cases which was good. the comforters on the beds were a little to heavy for the summer so we just used the top sheets instead and we were perfectly fine. the condo was perfect for all of us because once it was dark outside we played hide and seek in the dark and the whole place it pitch black with none of the lights or tvs on and it was a little creepy. the staff at the front desk were very nice and friendly and helpful to us because we were lost when we got there because the hotel is so huge. there is alot of parking spaces in there hotel parking lot so nomatter when you came back to the hotel u had parking. the maids always came and cleaned the room every morning when we left to go do something. there was never anything stolen from our bags and nothing was misplaced. the only thing they did with the bags were move them to the beds so the can vacum because we acidently spilled sugar everywhere. there room service was awsome i mean seriously awsome. it was awsome because every day when we were out there we always called room service and they brought us all cans of monster like whenever we wanted them. this hotel was awsome. there outdoor pool was very cool and very clean like the water was crystal clear. the only thing we didnt like was that the indoor waterpark was so small and it looked like it was for little kids but even though we were all 18 we still went in the indoor water park anyway. they had a huge hot tub which was so realaxing for us and it was very clean. our overall experience with this hotel was that it was amazing and we recommend you staying here if u have a lot of people going or if you have a small amount going stay at mt olympus

Room Tip: no matter how many people you have always pick the 3 bedroom lake condo with loft becuase it will ma...
