Overall: Great place to stay! Lots & lots to do! Three nights was NOT enough to do all of the activities!
Accommodations: We stayed at Wilderness on the Lake in a 2-bedroom condo & there were 9 of us composed of two seperate families... It was perfect! Bathrooms are large. Jacuzzi in screened-in deck offered a great view of lake... Pots & pans & dishes supplied were new and very nice. Oh - the deck seemed to be completely sound-proof. We shut the door a couple of times on the kids & their loud television & we could not hear them @ all... The condos must all be like that - which is rare for a hotel-type environment.. Only complaint about the condo was that it is very dark! But I guess it's because it is a long & narrow condo.. So that is not a big deal!
The waterparks are a long way apart from each other so we had to take shuttles everywhere but our kids were ranging in age from 5 to 16 so they were old enough to do so. All of the kid's favorite was the indoor wave pool... It was tempting not to even be "inside" in the summertime but it was very nice & the kids had a blast!
The staff was awesome! The shuttle bus and water taxi drivers were the best! Prior to booking this vacation, I had read on here that there were a lot of foreigners working there that didn't know English.... People were very negative about that. (I guess they think everyone should be Americans...) I asked one of the staff about that because there were a lot of young workers that had a hard time with English... She explained that they are there because they are studying the hospitality industry in college in their native counties and, because there would never be enough native Wisconsians to fill all of the summertime jobs there, they bring them in to be exposed to our culture sort of like interns. They were all very, very polite! And all of the staff that we encountered were very friendly & understood at least the basics of English... My husband lst his Oakley (expensive) sunglasses in the park... By chance, we checked Lost & Found - they were actually there! Turned in by a lifeguard... They went through 2 or 3 young hands to get to Lost & Found - which is quite amazing! So they are very, very honest people as well!
In addition, the sheer number of lifeguards they have on staff is the best I have ever seen!
FOOD: The food was pretty good... They did have healthy food options like fresh fruit or subs, etc, at each water park... A little overpriced but all water park food is so we expected that. The alcoholic beverages were HIGHLY overpriced ($6 for a beer)... We rented a cabana one of the days -which totally ROCKED - & had a waiting staff bringing us food & drink. I wish I could remember her name because she was very friendly & did a great job! We never ate @ any of the other restaurants because we had a full kitchen in our condo. There are also a lot of grills out on the public deck with clean tables, etc...
The infinity pool is awesome!
All in all, we will come back to this hotel - even though it was expensive - it was worth the price paid. My kids are still talking about it a full month later!
We would go back and hopefully will go back next year!
