“Amazing Hotel!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 26, 2011

This was the cleanest, most affordable, and family-friendly hotel! We loved our visit to the Dells because of our stay at the Alakai Hotel! The kids loved the waterslides, we loved the cleanliness, and together we had an amazing stay! We'd recommend everyone to stay at the Alakai while visiting the Dells.

Our family had a very relaxed stay at Alakai Hotel. Staff was great and friendly, the room was clean, and the pool was great for our little ones. Noah’s Ark tickets from the hotel are only $23 per person, that was our day 2 of the stay. Overall a very affordable stay, we already made reservations to come back for labor day weekend.

Fortunately for them, our children being 9 years old, enjoyed their slides,....and the inclusive Noahs Arc free passes, beyond that,...we would not recommmend this Hotel to anyone!!!!!!! The Owners run this Hotel at the front dest and are rude They are so strict with their rules and times of closing, leaving no consideration for the customers. The owner threatened to throw away our daughters toy while passing it back and forth in the pool with no other customers in the pool. RIDICULOUS!! Felt like we had babysitters more than anything!! We were so dissappointed with the stay that even for free tickets to Noahs Arc,...We would NEVER STAY there again!! IWhat a WASTE of our time. At 40 years old,.. We feel we do not need another mother. These owners acr miserable and are EXTREMELY UPTIGHT!! NEVER AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We stayed for a weekend at the Alakai June 22 and 23rd. We had a great stay and found the hotel to be a great value. We traveled with our 2 4 year olds and the indoor water area was perfect for them.
With all the walking we did everywhere else in the Dells it was nice to stay where we didn't need to walk a long way to get to our room. Our room was very clean, and offered plenty of space. There are in room fridge and microwave as well.
There are no coffee makers in the room, but plenty of fresh coffee in the morning at the front desk.
Checkout is early compared to most, so just be aware that you really do need to be out of your room at 10:30 on checkout day, and check-in is also pretty strict to 3:00pm.
There are plenty of food options very close by. The owners are friendly and will do what they can to make your stay great. We had a great stay and will do it again.

When we checked in, we were told they only had rooms w/ hot-tubs available, so we paid more. There was a festival in town, so we didn't continue to look. We planned to stay two nights. Overnight, it was obvious the hotel was at less than half capacity. The next morning at 8am, I told the desk that we had changed our mind and wanted to check out. They said our card was charged for two nights already and we had to pay for the 2nd night in the hot-tub room. They said that it was standard procedure in the Dells, but other hotels did not verify that. I felt lied to. The room itself was acceptable, but we did not want a room with a hot-tub.

My family visited the Dells for a short fall getaway. We stayed at the Alakai becuase of the great rates in the off season. We have stayed before and had a pleasant experience and this was no exception. The hotel was clean both in the rooms and the hall. My son walked barefoot in the hall and his feet stayed clean. The pool was large and the whirlpool hot with strong jets. The staff was pleasant. The room was quiet. Even though there was a party, it was still quiet.

Enjoyed an overnight weekend stay with 4 grandkids ages 3 and under in late Oct, so were only able to enjoy the indoor water park. As the website states, it's for 8 years & younger and was perfect! Everything looked clean and attended to. Walking distance to kid friendly restaurants. A very quick drive for all other Dell's activies. We recommend Buffalo Phil's Pizza & Grille- really kept the kids occupied until food came. There was no whining to be heard...We will come again to Alakai!
