When we pulled up to black hawk, the outside of the building looked pretty tired. But the inside of our room was very nice. It was clean, the beds were comfy, and had plenty of space for my family of four. It was kind of chilly outside, so the owners turned the temp in the outdoor pool up- try getting one of the giant hotels to do that for you!! Our room included free passes to Chula Vista. I have stayed there before & hated it, going just to use their waterpark was no different. They refused to let me borrow one of their towels to wipe the seats in the waterpark, and when I ordered 2 drinks from the tiki bar, it was 16.00 and contained zero liquor. Just skip the Chula Vista passes, and stay at the Black Hawk pool. I only found 2 things that slightly bugged me here- the indoor pool area has no ceiling fans, so it gets super hot in there, but I heard they are planning to do something to the pool area, so maybe they will have fans installed. Second, there were no recycle bins in the rooms, or even recycle dumpsters. It doesn't cost much to get them , so I hope to see them next time I stay. This was great hotel, with very nice staff, and I think I'm turned off the giant waterpark hotels for a while. Black Hawk is a great choice!!!
