“Great Value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 30, 2012

Our family was very happy with our stay at the AmericInn in Wisconsin Dells. Great value if you are looking to stay in the Dells for a reasonable price. The hotel was clean and the staff friendly. Basic pool and another little kids pool with a froggy slide that our 4-year-old loved. Breakfast with hot waffles was a huge plus for our family of 6. Note that this hotel is not going to provide thrills for the waterpark lover; however, they provide free passes to Chula Vista Resort's Waterpark........awesome for our 3 older kids! We also were able to get free waterpark passes for Mount Olympus with a code from a friend before we arrived in the Dells, making the whole experience very affordable and fun. I would highly recommend this hotel and I loved the wooded view from our room window.

Spent two night there for a weekend getaway and it was HORRIBLE. The room smelled musty and the floors were wet, the AC was loud and you could hear water running constantly in the unit. The first night there we decided to try the hot tub, BIG mistake!! As we went to enter there was "stuff" in the hot tub, we're still unclear what all was in there but appeared to be a catchup packet, some large white thing and a brown oozing substance. We informed the front desk and they LAUGHED. A girl did come to clean it up a bit and informed us it was paper and crayon had washed off the paper. I have 5 kids and NEVER seen that happen! Beds were hard and uncomfortable. We travel often with our children and this is definitely not a place we will be returning.

We liked it here. It is located very close to most activities in Wisconsin Dells. Nice free breakfast. The Chula Vista water passes were a nice bonus. At a normal price of $30 each, it was a good deal. The rooms are fairly basic, but good enough. Very quite. Nice little pool for the kids.

Me and my family stayed here a week ago and it was decent. The staff was friendly and the building was very homey and cozy. The value was good as well(4 nights for about $300) The complimentary breakfast and dinner were very tasty, especially the waffles. My only complaints are no wifi or cell service and the bed was uncomfortable and broke the last night we stayed. Other than that it was a good place to stay.

Room Tip: Stay on the second floor there is a staircase in the lobby that leads right to the second floor room...

Stayed 2 nights. Rude front desk staff at check in and check out.
You need to have your bill adjusted at check out because they tack on a daily safe fee and you can't opt out, you must wait to check out to remove it.
The wake up call system was not adjusted for day light savings so our entire group received calls one hour late (and we were in town for an early morning event)
Beds very firm.
Decent sized pool for younger kids.
loud AC/heater that rattled all night

Found hair in both of our beds when we first checked into our room - room 318
Found a dead fly in our room on the window ledge - room 318

Our family members who stayed in room 316 found a live bug in their room right before bed. Looked similar to a grasshopper. Brought it down to the man working at the front desk and received a "OH, I'LL SHOW THE MANAGER IN THE MORNING." He did not apologize nor did he seem to care.

Didn't receive the Chula Vista Waterpark passes upon check in like we were supposed to.

Overall, not impressed with this visit.

Would we return- probably not after this visit.

Room Tip: Avoid room 316 & 318. Ask to stay on 3rd floor to avoid breakfast crowd

Spent 4 nights and the service was great. Can't say that about the Wi-Fi, though. Couldn't get it (or cell service) in my room because of their heralded "sound-deadening brick" things used in construction. 1) I could still hear my neighbor, and 2) I'd rather have the Wi-Fi and cell service...I could always call and complain about a loud occupant :-) Also, the lobby's computer was sorely lacking...the mouse was broke and not replaced.
