“Very big resort with many different accomodations”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 8, 2012

We stayed here in September of 2012. Our accomodations were in a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom cottage. We stayed for a week and absolutely loved it here! We enjoyed playing mini-golf (in fact we played it 3 times during our stay) and also loved playing shuffleboard.

Our cottage was really nice with a really big kitchen and a 2nd bathroom in the master bedroom. The view from our balcony was all woods which was very nice. Our cottage was up on a hill at a dead end corner lot so we felt like we had a bit of privacy but we were still close enough to the clubhouse to walk. The only thing we missed was that the 2-twin bedroom didn't have a tv. Luckily they had very good wifi service so my son was able to watch things on his computer. Also, since the cottages do not have their own washer and dryer, they had free laundry in the laundry room that you could access with your room key. Which we did take advantage of since we were there for a week!

It is far enough away from the hectic Dells Area for nice quiet evenings but still a very short drive down the road if you want to do the Dells Scene a day or two. The staff was super friendly!

We are actually going back next month and we will be staying in a 3 bedroom townhouse. I will write a review about that place when we arrive home and let you know how that type of place is and how it compares to a cottage.

We decided to go to the Wisconsin Dells for a late fall trip to see the area while the leaves were changing and do some biking on nearby trails. However, we didn't want to stay in the tourist area of the Dells, so decided to use some Blue-Green points at Christmas Mountain Village. It was a perfect 4 miles west of downtown Wisconsin Dells and 9 miles east of Reedsburg where the Wisconsin 400 trail (which is a continuation of the Elroy-Sparta trail) ends. Elroy is about a 26 mile drive.
Our unit was a two bedroom Deluxe Timbers which featured a large open area with living room (gas fireplace), large dining area, and corridor type kitchen with a bar and dishwasher. The main floor master bedroom had another fireplace, a jacuzzi, and bath. It was a very nice unit and had everything we needed for our 3 night stay. The other bedroom was on the 2nd floor and was reached by an open stairway in the entry hall with a balcony that led to the bedroom, bathroom, and laundry room. It could also have been a three bedroom unit with the addition of the adjoining "lock-out" unit. A screened-in porch opened off the living room but the weather was too cool while we were there to use it. There was parking for one car and just two steps to reach the entry porch. This is a wooded area so parking is pretty tight---the extra car parking was across the street. The 27 hole golf course at the resort looked wonderful but we didn't have time to play. At the registration center was the indoor swimming pool with a "kiddie side", an outdoor hot tub (several people were using it each night), and an exercise room. We ate at Mulligan's two nights and the food was good. Our unit had beach towels to use at the swimming pool along with other amenities . The only con was that the two upholstered chairs in the living room were kind of dingy but we just covered them with a couple beach towels! Would certainly go again if we could have this type of unit.

Room Tip: The villas on the golf course have a good view with an outdoor swimming pool close by. The townhomes...

My family came to Chirstmas Moutain to have a family reunion as well as enjoy the dells and 4th of July. The resort has plenty of swimming pools to cool off in the summer. They also have a golf course that my family also enjoyed. They also had put put golf that my 7 year old cousin enjoyed. The cottage that we stayed in had an issue with the air conditioning which made it uncomfortable for some days but okay in the evening. We also had an issue with our refrigerator but I guess it was just old and had to replace it with another one. The maintance people were very timely. The cottage. It was perfect for my family of two children and two adults with 3 other adults.
The location was not to far from the waterparks or the strip or some local grocery stores. We also went to a movie theater that wasn't too far.
The units has cable television with many channels but he internet was soooo slow. Way to slow to do much but check an email and that was even bad. Their WiFi was horrible.
Overall we had a great vaction even though we didn't get to see fireworks since there was a fire band due to the drought. I recommend it for everyone.

Room Tip: make sure you call ahead to make sure your rooms are ready. One of the cabins weren't ready for...

We rented a townhouse with one bedroom and were happily surprised. The place was very clean and we wanted for nothing every thing is there down to the nut cracker. We had a good time sitting on the rear deck drinking wine and talking to the wildlife.
Close to the dells and the fun yet quiet and peaceful.

Room Tip: Ask for a townhouse with no stairs

Of all of the Blue Green places that we have been, this is absolutely the worst place ever. We were given a cabin that was used by the workers there and the cabinets in the kitchen didn't even have bottoms & the floors were filthy. We know because we asked the lady that was staying in the next cabin. She was one of the maids. The mattresses had to be over 20 years old, hard flat & thin. No amenities there & no decent restrauants. Water slides for kids.
Never again.

Room Tip: Make sure that you check with the facility to see what you are getting or you might get surprised...

We have stayed at Christmas Mountain the past two years during spring break. We are debating where to stay this year. We really like the resort but we have three children ages 6, 4 and 3 who can't swim at the indoor pool for more than an hour due to how cold it is. Quite frankly, I don't like to stay for more than an hour because it's so cold. I have read other complaints about this issue so I don't think they just happen to put it down when we are there.... So, we are considering going somewhere else next year.

The kids arts program is great and the rec room is a nice space to take the kids for a diversion. The property is nice with lots of trees. Having a restaurant on-site is one thing we like in a resort. Access to the Dells area is easy and groceries at Walmart is a short drive but not bad.

We have stayed in a 3 bedroom townhouse and a two bedroom cottage. The townhouse is updated with plenty of room on the 2 bedroom side. The one bedroom lockoff side is much smaller but updated nicely. The 1 bedroom would be fine for 2 people. I do NOT recommend the cottages. They are basically a camping cottage. They are set at the back of the property away from the main area and next to the camp sites. They are really small. We were very cramped. Making dinner in the small kitchen was a chore and we had to go to bed with the kids because no matter how low we put the TV in the living room they said it was too loud and they couldn't sleep (thin walls and no space). So much for mom and dad time....

I gave a 3 instead of 4 star only because of the cold pool temperature. For us, it's a deal breaker.

Christmas Mountain if you monitor your reviews, please put up the heat on the indoor pool, we'd really like to come back......

Room Tip: Make sure you review the differences between the villas, townhouses and cottages. If you are lookin...

Away from the noise of the strip ,christmas mountain is approx three miles away. Quite quite quite, i slept thur the night. I got up in the morning and swam laps and rode the exercise bike. I had lunch at Mulligans then visited the many attractions the Dells has to offer. Very nice resort, will be back in the winter for ski.

Room Tip: I dont think any of the cabins,or cottages are bad
