“Nice place”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 days ago NEW

Although an older hotel, the Wintergreen offered spacious room for a great value. Decor is dated, but room was very clean & bed very comfortable. Internet included. Room has small drug, microwave & coffee. There is a small indoor pool. In summer season their outdoor water area is great for preschool & early elementary ages. They offer a variety of rooms for various family needs. Front desk personnel helpful & welcoming.

Would definitely stay there again & save money on the room and spend it on the other Dells water parks and activities. Occasionally they offer a water park entrance with their rooms.

Washer & dryer available onsite. Small restaurant & bar also.

Near the Outlet Mall & restaurant.

I was recently at the Wintergreen for a conference. The resort is certainly older and in need of repair. Several of the conference rooms have chipped wood work, ruffled wallpaper, etc. The food was okay. For dessert we had "chocolate mousse" which was essentially whipped chocolate pudding with Hershey's syrup on top.

The management and staff were very friendly and accommodating though. They are certainly doing what they can with what they have.

There was a security guard/cop on premise all night. That is fine and dandy, but having them sit in the front lobby on a chair doesn't present the best image.

We are so glad that you found our staff helpful. We believe they are one of the best in the Dells!

As you noticed there are a couple areas in the hotel that needs touching up. Being a 100 plus room resort, with a dozen conference centers, a restaurant, a bar, and two parks things do get some wear and tear. In addition to regular repairs (when something is reported by our staff or guests) we inspect our rooms quarterly to guarantee everything is in tip top shape. We are currently are in inspecting all of our rooms to get ready for the summer season.

We encourage you to stop by this summer and check out the resort. You will be pleased with how fresh the rooms look and feel. Plus you get free Noah's Ark tickets for staying with us. You can't beat that!

Take care and we will see you down the road!

So we reserved a family suite. The front desk is very friendly. We get to our room which around the main building. The problem with this is in order for our kids to go swim in the pool they had to walk back out around the building to get to the pool..my daughter did not like this. The room itself was not that big to be a suite (we've had more room in a cheaper motel in downtown dells.) The beds were hard as a rock. I just guess I'm more use to a soft comfortable bed. Upon check out the front desk clerk asked how was our stay...I told him not good because of the beds. So he informs me they do have softer beds that we should just ask for them. How am I suppose to know this. Maybe when making a reservation they should tell you there is different firmness's of the beds. I did like that it was in walking distance to the outlet mall & to knuckleheads.

It's been a long time since I've been in a room like this. First things I noticed were the lack of a wall plate on the fan control and heater/ac control box cover laying on top of the unit. Next we opened the balcony door to find two large holes in the screen. The bathroom was something else. Start with the poorly patched ceiling which may still be leaking as the joint compound was full of black mildew. The toilet had a shim under the bathtub side to keep it from rocking. Much of the floor tile grout was the same color as the asphalt in the parking lot.
We left a tip for housekeeping, we should have saved our money. The dirty glasses from the hotel bar were still in the sink and the ice bucket full of melted ice from the day before.

Room Tip: If you want a good room, walk over to the Great Wolf or Kalihari

The hotel is very clean and comfortable. We had a very large one bedroom suite that sleeps 6 for far, far less than we could have gotten a room that slept two at the nearby water park hotels. The bathroom looked quite new and the shower had good water pressure. While the indoor pool is quite small and the little water park area for small children is looking a little shabby, the whole pool area was very clean and the room prices cannot be beat. The location is great too, right next to the outlet mall and Great Wolf Lodge and a good variety of restaurants are very close. Knuckleheads Trampoline Park, Bowling and Indoor Amusement park is right next door as well. (And the hotel front desk gave us great coupons.) Kalahari is right across the street. The staff could not have been nicer or more helpful. We would definitely stay here again if in the area.

My family decided at the last minute to extend our roadtrip and visit the Dells over Easter weekend. Because it was Spring Break, the prices of most hotels were outrageous. Wintergreen had a deal to stay Friday and Saturday for $69/night. Amazing! We called and made reservations 2 hours before we
arrived.

The staff at Wintergreen were outstanding. We arrived late and the
staff kept the pool open so my son could swim. They did the same for us on Saturday night when we arrived back to the hotel late after Easter Vigil mass. I have never seen such customeservice at a hotel. It truly
made my son's stay memorable.

On Easter morning, the Easter bunny came to each guests door with an Easter
basket for the kids. Again, awesome
customer service.

We chose to stay in the standard double queen room. It was very roomy, clean
and the shower was very nice. A fridge
and microwave was included which is always a plus. We also had a sliding door that led to a patio outside. We loved it.

The location is great. While not in
the downtown Dells area, it is right
next to Tanger Outlet and a variety of
restaurants. It is a short drive to the Dells attractions.

The breakfast buffet at the Wintergreen Grille was filling and delicious. We were given a 10% off coupon for the restaurant when we arrived at the hotel.

The indoor Waterpark area was perfect for our needs. My 12 year old loved playing basketball in the pool and using the waterslide. The pool was probably the warmest hotel pool I have stepped into. Loved it.

My only negative would be the beds, but that is due to personal preference. The beds were very hard- I felt like I was sleeping on a board. My husband and son agreed.

Despite that, we had an excellent Easter weekend stay and will be returning in August. This is the best Dells hotel we have found after many attempts. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a little more relaxing and quieter Dells experience, yet being close to all of the action.

We are so happy that you enjoyed your stay at the Wintergreen. We strive to treat each and every guest like family.

When you stay here next please let the front desk staff know of your personal preference for your beds. We have rooms equipped with very soft beds to very firm beds so that we have something for everyone.

Thank you again for choosing to stay with us and we will see you down the road!
