The resort was conveniently located close to Chula Vista waterpark. It was easy to check in and out. No frills at this place but it was clean. Nightly bonfires with s'mores were fun. Please get wih the times and have good wi FI service in all rooms!!

This is a great place for families with small children. The indoor and outdoor pools are more than enough for toddlers and the heated outdoor pool is well maintained. The grounds seems to be in the process of being updated and the place is looking great. They have plenty of fire pits around the property, they even add kindling to them every day and leave a stack of fire wood for you. There are grills all over the property for you to use. The rooms are pretty spacious, but are showing their age a bit. They have added brand new LCD TV's and DVD players to the rooms and now have WIFI in the lobby. It is amazingly quiet at night, and our son loved sitting by the fire roasting marshmallows. We will be back next year.

We spent two nights in a 2 bedroom suite. It was clean. It was spacious. It was private. It was looking its age. The full kitchen area (mini-fridge, toaster, microwave---dishes, pans, towels--etc AWESOME) The resort is perfect for a family with young children. The indoor pool area and outdoor play area is geared toward very young children. The outdoor pool is for larger and older folks. The resort offers a variety of games---volleyball, tetherball, table tennis, horseshoes. Unfortunately the balls etc need to be checked out at the front desk---and past guests had not bothered to return them. Overall it was a very nice place to stay.

We had a baseball team needing last minute accommodations and were thrilled that Meadowbrook was able to make room for us in their Ponderosa outbuilding as well as match the pricing to the BW in town so that it was affordable for us. Great setup for the team to be able to grill out meals together and hang out on covered deck, space for kids to play whiffle ball, and outdoor pool was within eye sight and a good size for 10 yr old boys to play together. Rooms were clean, bed comfortable, and the party policy wasn't strictly enforced - maybe because we had the full building to ourselves??? Regardless, we were grateful that we were able to hang out without being harassed by the security they had onsite.

Drawbacks: 1) hot water seemed to be a premium in the Ponderosa facility (several families discussed only warm water - I must have been lucky because I always had hot showers). 2) The first day, housekeeping didn't shut one of the rooms and the door was wide open - luckily nothing was stolen - but the front desk person didn't care too much that it had happened - 3) the marshmallow roasting sticks were expensive - one should be included with the bucket price.

For what we needed, this place was perfect. When passing several motels in the Dells, we were grateful we called Meadowbrook Resorts our home for the 5 days. If we had paid full price for the rooms, I might not have believed it to be a great value, but working with the group the way they did was great!

Room Tip: If traveling with a group, the Ponderosa was an ideal location! Close to the lodge/pool and ameniti...

We had a rough start at first but thanks to housekeeping the visit ended up better then expected. At registration they allowed us in our room before 4. We noticed the beds were not made and went to the front desk to inquire about sheets. We were told we would have to purchase them. Rather than do that, we made the beds with the existing bedding that we did not know was dirty. A half hour later we received a knock on the door, it was housekeeping asking what we were doing in the room. We all had a good laugh and found out we didn't have to buy sheets and make our beds. The place is extremely clean however when you make inquiries about a future stay, I was told the price changes on a daily basis. I have never heard of this before and found the front desk to be of no help. Also, the $.30.00 coupon mentioned in their ad for returning to Meadowbrook is not good from Memorial Day to Labor Day next year. When I asked if it could be extended, I was told there is plenty to do during winter and spring. I found this to be misleading as for my family there isn't much to do in winter or spring.

Room Tip: Higher floors have less noise and if you are looking for a room with some space, the Lumberjack room...

We spent 4 days and 3 nights at Meadowbrook. We had a great time. The indoor water area was perfect for my two year old to play in the water and go down the water slides. It is definitely meant for kids under 5 but it was perfect for him and he loved it. The resort had two pool areas outside as well. One was meant for small children and my son enjoyed this pool as well. The other pool was deeper and allowed the rest of the family to swim if they chose to. Our room was very nice, we stayed in the lumberjack suite in the main hotel area. The room was clean, we always had fresh towels after our daily adventures, and the mini kitchen allowed us to cook breakfast. The hotel service was excellent. Staff were always holding doors for us or giving us directions to our daily trips. The perfect place to stay. We will be back again.

I would not recommend this place if you are in town to have fun. We were there for a bach party, and both nights we got In around bar time. We were by no means loud, but the rent a cop that was there told us to shhhh before we even got up the stairs the first night, then comes to our door saying we were too loud, (we were at tv level) the second night she went and confronted the SOBER driver that we were going to fast into the parking lot and proceeded to tell us to be quiet and that she could have us removed. Mind you we are all 45 and old. So yeah.. not to accommodating there. Also the people at the front desk do not seem to know what they are doing. Rather frustrating! Carolyn that worked there was VERY helpful and understanding. I would for sure recommend going there if you are a family with children who are not planning on being out late and just chilling.
