Our family spent a couple of nights including New Year's eve at the Kalahari and weren't overly impressed. The place is huge. Our room was in the Sands complex - as far away from the waterpark & theme park as you can possibly get. The waterpark is nice but I do agree with other posts that the water is cold.
I've also tried to understand the wrist band policy. When we checked in we were given a wrist band for our two night stay. But if we wanted to use the waterpark on on the day we checked out (which they encourage and we did) we had to get a new wrist band. Why not just give us one that worked for our ENTIRE stay. For the price of the stay, this should have never been an issue.
The theme park (not included in package price) is for all ages. Rock climing, go-carts, carousel, ferris wheel and enough games to keep them all busy.
All in all it was a nice stay, but expensive. I do recommend you avoid the Sands complex unless you want to be away from it all.
