We stayed here years ago and had no issues. Well, that has changed and we probably won't be back. We stayed Thursday, March 28 for a few nights. Upon arrival, we were told to keep our wristbands on as they never rec'd their order. No big deal. But, we were also told if, and that is IF, we were to get towels at the pool, to hold onto them as they probably won't be available. Again, ok, as we were lucky enough to bring our own. Checked in and the room appeared decent. Went to the "main" pool with the basketball hoops and the place was a sh#@ hole. Kids running everywhere, used towels laying everywhere, pizza boxes, food bags, drink cups thrown everywhere. Not to sound mean, but the hotel isn't completely in fault for this. I put the blame on the lazy hotel guests that "refused" to pickup after themselves. We almost left the first night to grab a different hotel, but decided to stay. After the pool, getting ready for bed, we found the beds very uncomfortable, hairs (and yes, those kind) on the hard, hole filled blankets. Asked for additional blankets and those weren't any better. Tv is a Zenith, so you know it's old and the reception was awful. Found a huge spider in the tub and toe nail clippings on the bathroom floor. That was our first night.
Second day was totally different. The pools were kept up, the lazy guests seemed to leave, and it wasn't all that bad. Towels were offered here and there.
The biggest thing that angered me was Friday. We left our room to head downtown Dells and left the "Do not disturb" sign on the door. We didn't need service and left things out (and we should have known better) that we should not have. Well, when we got back, the sign was gone and they cleaned our room. I guess the "do not disturb" sign doesn't mean much.
Oh yeah, before I forget. They state they have wi-fi internet. Well, not in the rooms. You need to go to the lobby and the connection was awful at it's best. We took the kids to the game room and it's ok. The lady working there was complaining about older kids harassing younger kids for money. Also, a few days prior, there was vandalism in the game room. Again, the poor lazy, non caring guests ruining it for everyone.
To end it off, just minutes before leaving, we found another guest in our room. This time a huge bug that you could, and I'm not kidding, easily see across the whole room. I thought it was a roach, but was told different. ????
Again, won't be staying there again, but for $80 and $100 bucks a night, it was as expected.
