This was our first time staying in Wisconsin Dells. Not being a fan of big resorts/waterparks or paying the high prices associated with them, we chose this little place just outside of town. The price was right and it was a nice quiet location, which is exactly what we were looking for. We went to the Dells at the end of September, because we wanted to take the boat ride through the Upper Dells and experience the natural beauty of the area.
This motel was perfect for my husband and I. The room was very nostalgic, just like motels we stayed in when I was a kid in the 1960's on family vacations. The decor was reminiscent of those days with the knotty pine and the strip motel configuration. However, the room was spotlessly clean with a freshly renovated bathroom, flat screen TV, WiFi and even a coffee maker in the room. A perfect combination of nostalgia and modern convenience.
Mark, the manager, was great and gave us good information and recommendations on what to do and where to eat in the area. The entire motel has a very well kept look to it. The buildings are well maintained and there is a very nice lawn area in both the front and back of the motel. The front area has a swingset, picnic tables and charcoal grills, so this would also be a good place for families vacationing in the area.
