“Waste of money”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed July 2, 2013

This is a waste of money and time. The story-line is confusing and dumb, it doesn't make any sense. False advertisement, thought it was going to be a historic adventure.

“False advertisement”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed June 28, 2013 via mobile

Don't go on this tour thinking you will solve a mystery. Don't even try to solve it. Because they will later tell you that most clues are online or to come back next year for more clues. They give you a page of questions and you can find the answer, but they provide nothing to write with so bring your own pencil.

You sit in a room reading fake news paper articles and watching fake new broadcasts trying to look for clues, the you board the boat and the terrible acting starts. Enjoy the boatride, as it's the only enjoyable part of the tour. You exit the boat and walk along the trail, trying to look for clues but are told to hurry and stay with the group. At the end of the trail some weird thing happens (and I still don't know what) but then zombies come and chase u back to the boat. Very confusing. On the boat you are told to look for clues online and to come back next year for clues.

So basically it should be advertised as a ghost boat tour. Even still, not worth it.

“Confusing story line, great trip.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 15, 2013

We had fun and enjoyed the trip. The story line was a bit confusing. The best part was traveling the river and Cold Water Canyon at night. We were in a small group and some of the guests were sarcastic and mean. I felt sorry for the "actors" and did my best to keep on the story. I must admit that there were times when I was scared taken in by the experience. I feel bad giving it 3 stars because my experience might have "tainted" by the "icky" guests that we were with. A few bad apples .........

Buy a "Fun Card" and use it for the buy one get one free deal on this attraction.

“Shows promise”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 15, 2013

Having done some research prior to the trip, I was expecting more of a mystery to solve. As we waited to board, we found out a little more information about the "current" state of the site. The boat ride was nice getting to see the river on the way to the canyon. (I've done the Upper Dells Boat Tour as well, so it was cool to see it at night.) as we got to the site, it felt a little hard to follow the story, and what was emphasized online seemed different than what was pushed in the show. However, I think the group you go with makes or breaks the show. Several of the people were sarcastic and making jokes, which is definitely hard for the actors to work with. Lastly, there were some awesome old buildings at the site that I would be cool to see more of, especially since the canyon is no longer a stop on the regular tour.

Be aware that there is a lot of walking and it is a little scary at the end. The signage warns against children under ten as well as the walking requirements. There are narrow passages and a long walk in and out. If you're not up for that in the dark, I would not recommend.

My advice- find a discount card that you can get buy one get one free and try it if you're looking for something to do on a nice night.

“Entertaining and scenic”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 1, 2013 via mobile

Great performances and special effects....no cheesy pads you syep on for automatic/robot crap. All live actors and beautiful scenery if your not to scared to notice. I have worked in haunts and give lost a b+ ... a. Lots of fun and better bang for the buck than the other haunted dells stuff which is mainly animitronic....rockin interactive live action fun!
