First off, the owners were very friendly and helpful offering discount coupons and activity suggestions when we arrived. The property is right on the lake and my girls 8 & 10 loved seeing a frog outside our room and canoeing on the lake. They were disappointed with the camp fire which is crammed in between the "beach" which is actually a volleyball court and the deck of one of the lakefront cabins. Nobody attended the camp fires either night so we didn't enjoy the social experience others have spoken of. The "playground" is mostly plastic toddler toys scattered about the cluttered grass area. The rooms are in need of some upgrades but were mostly functional, I tried to close a blind and the thing collapsed on me but I was able to reattach it. We thought the water park tickets were going to add value but Mt.Olympus was only charging $15 for water and theme park admission so we didn't end up saving any money as we were going to pay $15 to upgrade to theme park anyway. Overall my kids enjoyed their stay here, but when you can stay at the Wilderness Resort for the same price you would have to love the outdoor camping experience to come here instead.
