“Great fun for everyone”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 30, 2014

We just got back from a two night stay at Wilderness. We have a 4 year old and 7 month old. We loved it, and are already planning a stay in the Winter. Wilderness has something for everyone, you really never have to leave. They have indoor and outdoor go-karts, mini golf, and arcade, bars, restaurants and 8 waterparks!!! We had a blast on the slides and loved the outdoor lazy rivers. There is even an indoor wave pool with a clear ceiling so that you can get a tan...it's like being outside!

I would stay here over every other Dells resort and hope to try the cabins next.

My family and I stayed last year for our vacation and again this year for my husband and I to celebrate our anniversary. We had sooo much fun and the villa was beautiful. We stayed in the hotel for our anniversary, that too, was wonderful and well taken care of. Everyone was nice and they were quick t bring us any extras that we needed. We will be going again in a couple weeks!! Yay

Stayed at wilderness and the water parks continue to please. Nice touch with Starbucks coffee kiosk in the morning to start off and would definitely recommend a stay here. Clean room and properly maintained .

This was a great resort for our family because we wanted a little bit of everything--our son likes the water but isn't into the big slides (which they also have plenty of), so we had the wave pool, lazy rivers, but also other activities like go-karts, mini golf, ropes course, outdoor walks, etc. It was also less expensive than some of the other water parks in the area. Our room was clean and comfy (we had a double queen suite) and the grounds were well maintained. All the staff were super helpful and friendly. Like any of these resorts the costs can add up, but we saved money by getting the extreme fun pass (buy 3 get 1 free) and by getting a few groceries and eating breakfast in our room.

Room Tip: like everyone else, I recommend avoiding 2nd floor--that floor is the main connector with LOTS of fo...

We were very impressed with this resort. The water parks were amazing and very clean for the most part. So many activities for the whole family. The resort is large and spread out but there is very good signage and shuttles so it's easy to navigate.

The room was very spacious and we enjoyed the balcony. We stopped in at Walmart and bought breakfast and lunch fixings for the fridge. It was nice being able to pop back to the room to relax and have a sandwich on the balcony.

We did have some issues with housekeeping. Two of the three days there we had to phone the front desk at 5 p.m. and ask why our room was never cleaned up. Both times they did come up right away and do it after we called.

Did have the buffet one evening and it wasn't very good. The drinks from the bar were very expensive.

Even on a hot day in July the water park lines were not busy which I was surprised at.

Overall we loved it and would visit again. The pool at the Wilderness on the Lake was amazing!

I'll break this review two parts: the waterpark and the hotel.

The Wilderness has three or four different waterparks separated by a few minute walk. We were at the Wilderness in July, when the outdoor waterparks were open. All the water parks are very nice and great for kids age 4 and up. We've stayed at the Great Wolf before, and this is much larger with more variety of rides.

One downside at the Wilderness. There are not nearly as many lifeguards as there were at the Great Wolf. This may concern some parents with younger kids. Also, at Great Wolf, all kids were required to wear life vests. Not so at Wilderness. I saw a couple kids with life vests, but don't know if they were available upon request. All in all I would rate the waterparks at the Wilderness better than the Great Wolf lodge.

Now for the hotel. The rooms are Worn and musty smelling. This is to be expected of a waterpark resort but still wasn't ideal. In general the rooms here or not as good as the Great Wolf Lodge.

Overall I would recommend this resort because of the superiority of the waterparks.
