“Nice Place to stay when you're in the Dells”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 27, 2012

Check in was easy, the only snag was the printer ran out of paper which the hotel staff fixed quickly. Price wise, I found this to be a pretty good deal for the Area. Cost with waterpark passes was about $83/night (Passes to Chula Vista Waterpark).

The Hotel is in fairly good condition, starting to show it's age but overall still good. The bed was comfortable and sheets nice, not a high thread count but not scratchy either. Plenty of "living" space with a table and extra chair which was showing signs of wear. Carpet is nearing the end of it's life in both the hall and rooms. The television was disappointing as it was an old box style television, but a good assortment of channels so all is not lost.

I didn't use the Pool so I can't say how it was but the hotel does have a pool & whirlpool, it that's your thing. Since I was in the world capital of waterparks it really wasn't that important to me.

Morning breakfast was good, not great. Waffles (regular or cinnamon), scrambled eggs (dry) and sausage along with a variety of cereals, yogurt, fruit, juices, etc. Enjoyable and something for everyone.

Overall, I'd stay here again. There are somethings I wasn't crazy about but those things are minor compared to the value you receive for your money which is good. Also, I took advantage of Choice Hotels special and stayed in a Quality Inn the next night and earned a free stay by booking two different stays before May 5th....if you read this soon give it a shot!

Front desk person was very knowledgable of the area and gave us coupons for dinner. Room was clean and the breakfast waffles delicious. Will be back to use the free waterpark passes.

We checked in around 5 PM and that went well. We were assigned a room on 3rd floor near the back of the motel. It was reasonable clean and furnished. The only real problem was the wifi had to weak a signal to do computer work. I had to go to the lobby to get wifi service. I let them know at the dest that wifi was too weak but all I got was "yeah it doesn't work very will in that area". Breakfast area was quite small but we were able to get our breakfast in a reasonable time. Checkout was quick and simple.

Room Tip: Try to get a room near the lobby if you wish to get wifi service.

It's time to sell this property to LaQuinta so it can be reburbished! I used points to stay here and now wish I hadn't. This hotel is far below Comfort Inn standards. The hotel is in really bad shape. Gutter leaks over the side entry, grounds are dirty, carpet in halls is severely worn and grout in pool area is in serious need of cleaning. In our room (it did have newer carpet and the walls were painted) there was mildew build up on the shower curtain, the tile corners were filthy, and a heavy layer of dust was on the microwave and lamp shades. The TV reception was grainy and of terrible quality on an old tube TV. The sheets were torn and the mattress was hard and lumpy. The free internet was down and the front desk didn't really care. I recommend you send an inspecter to this property at your earliest convenience. Comfort Inn should be ashamed of this property. So disappointed... should have stayed at the Holiday Inn Express.

Room Tip: Go somewhere else!

We stayed one night at this hotel, upon checking in at our room, noticed there was no coffee packets, went back downstairs to front desk to get some, go back to room, notice that there still was coffee in pot from previous guests, and used coffee filter as well, open packets of sugar left in room, decided to check rest of room for other problems before heading back down to front desk, the faucet in the tub could not be shut off completely and water streamed out constantly, the cabinet that housing the refrigerator had a board loose and was hanging out with nails exposed. Carpets were stained and dirty, glitter on floor. Wi-fi and tv reception were poor. There was no back on the remote for the tv and the battery kept falling out. The pool had no stairs to enter the water, just two ladders to climb in and out. The shallow end was 3.3 ft. And the deep end was 4.6 ft. So not very safe for kids. We redeemed points to stay here, and when we went to to front desk we were told if we had payed for the room they would deduct $10 from our bill, but since we used points, nothing could be done. They told us they would have a maintenance person come and fix things, but they never showed up. Upon checking out the next morning, they told us to contact the Choice Privileges Reward Program and try to get our points refunded. We are awaiting their response on this matter.

Room Tip: Pets are allowed on first floor, so if you have allergies to pets, get a room on higher floor

this was a fine place to stay... the staff was helpful and we had our needs were met promptly; we had trouble with the remote control to the television; but it was replaced although it was later into the night.. staff was friendly and knowlegable about the area especially the girl with red hair at the front desk.. the rooms could have been a bit cleaner, but for the price i cant complain.. the waffle bar at breakfast really hit the spot; although it was a tight squeeze in the lobby.

While this motel is conveniently located to attractions and just off the interstate, the breakfast area is impossibly small for the size of the motel. When we were there, people were in the breakfast area, in the lobby and even taking breakfast to their rooms because there was no where else to even stand. In addition, no one was keeping the coffee thermos filled, not keeping the bagels, donuts, etc. filled.

In addition, they "include in the price" of the motel room, passes to a water park which we did not use and they would not remove that charge from out room. While I understand that area is the water park capital of the U.S., some of us are not at all interested in that and don't relish paying for someone else to participate.
