“Great place!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 2, 2013

My husband, 10 year old son, and I decided to stay a night in Wisconsin Dells on our way to a wedding in Chicago. We chose Great Wolf Lodge because it seemed compact, all of the entertainment in 1 spot. Since we were only going to be there one night, I wanted to make sure we didn't spend a lot of time and energy walking from one end of a huge resort to another. I read a lot of the reviews on here and wasn't quite sure what to expect. What we got was a clean spacious room, with a comfortable bed. I do agree that the slides etc are geared towards younger kids, but my 10 year old was sufficiently entertained while we were there. He thought the Howlin Tornado was amazing. I think if we had been there longer he might have been bored. The food was good, I thought the prices comparable to any restaurant meal, maybe $10 per adult entree. The kid's menu wasn't anything special, the same old pizza, chicken strips, mac and cheese options. All in all, we had a great time and would recommend this place.

What a great place for kids. We had 3 girls, ages 4-8, who just loved the water park. The park contained separate areas made it easier to keep an eye on the kids. The water park had more than enough seating. The employees were attentive to our needs. Story time was great and the kids loved the dance afterwards.

We went to the Great Wolf Lodge to spend time with our grandchildren. The kids are 5 and almost 2. They both had a good time and so did we. The water park was not very crowded on the days we were there so it was great for small children. The wave pool was great fun for all of us. THe kids liked squirting water in the kiddie area and going down the two small waterslides. We had paid for breakfast online and ate at the buffet breakfast each day. They had food we all liked and it was hot and fairly good.My husband took advantage of the omlet station each day. Check in was quick check out was also quick. The rooms were nice and spacious. However ours had kind of a strange smell when you first walked in, but after you were there a few minutes you got accustomed to it. Free wi-fi. The two girls who did the kids program in the evening were wonderful. THey made balloon animals, told bedtime stories, and kept the kids entertained. We will go back before too long.

Great place for families large or small. Breakfast buffet super fast service. Large waterpark makes for lotsof different places to play making it seem uncrowded..need a little larger place for bedtime story, but employees really make it enjoyable and all employees super polite and helpful..Magic Quest will keep them excited, but a tad hard at figure out for little ones..can't wait to return!!

My kids and I *love* Great Wolf Lodge! It was our first hotel/waterpark experience, and we're already planning our next trip back. There is so much to do there for kids, and they make it easy for the parents.

The rooms are clean and fairly comfortable. You can tell this hotel was designed for families, as it's pretty darn quiet for the most part. There's an in-room fridge AND microwave, which is great to supplement or replace meals eaten out. We've stayed in a double queen and a themed bunk-bed room. While the kids had a fantastic time in the themed room, if I gave them a choice between the upgraded room or staying in a regular room for an extra night, they would pick staying longer.

The restaurant there is pretty good, if a tad pricey. But that's pretty typical of the entire area. They do offer gluten-free pizza, but I'd like to see more gluten-free friendly options on the kid's menu, or have the servers be more flexible with substitutes.

The waterpark is fantastic, with fun things for all ages. I have never seen lifeguards/staff so attentive to the safety of the water areas. Even my youngest, who isn't a strong swimmer yet, was able to go on all of the slides except the Tornado, and that was only because there's a minimum height requirement of 48" for that one.

The MagiQuest experience is awesome, and my kids love being able to come and go as they please to conquer more "quests" and more challenges.

My advice is to buy the hotel's "Paw Pass" -- it will save you money in the long run, and offers a little taste of everything there, from arcade tokens to MagiQuest game, and even a few treats.

We enjoyed our stay and did not have any reason to leave the hotel. The water is warm, the waterpark is clean, and Magiquest is an added bonus. The waterpark is the perfect size for children. It is divided into three sections with plenty to do for a variety of ages. The staff and guests were all very friendly. Also, the little clock show and nighttime story was a perfect ending to our fun day.

We traveled the weekend after Thanksgiving to the Great wolf lodge. There were 6 of us, my wife and i and 4 of our children all under the age of 6. We stayed two nights. We were in a standard room with two beds and a sofa bed. THe room was clean. We have many food allergies so we took full advantage of the in room fridge by bringing our own meals. THe kids were never bored we spent all day in the indoor water park and they were exhausted and ready for bed the next day. I would suggest bringing plenty of moisterizer or lotion for the children and coat them with it before bed. Being in the chlorine all day can take a toll on their skin. The kids still talk about it and can't wait to go back

Room Tip: We asked for a room close to the elevators and lobby which was nice. Normally, i would want to be fa...
