“Good dogs! (Open weekends for rest of year)”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 23, 2013

Just an update from the most recent reviews - the owner told us today when serving us that he was open for business Fri-Sun only due to a recent illness.

Great hotdog and fries - very good prices and fast service. Owner very friendly. Lots of umbrella-covered sitting around the railcar. Son loved seeing the train!

Will definitely return if we come back to the Dells.

“Bad Dog”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed August 18, 2013

This place is off “The Strip” and took a little while to find - only to see a sign say “Closed Today”. So we tried the next day with the same sign “Closed Today” and this time notice a poorly handwritten sign about being closed that we didn’t waste any more of our time reading. It would have been nice to have a sign that you could read closed for rest of the season so we wouldn’t have wasted our time the 2nd day.

“Closed for season due to illness..”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 1, 2013 via mobile

Great place but sign in window says closed for season due to illness....

Owner apologies in long note in window but illness forces closure for remainder of season...

This place is great and we so hope it reopenes next year as you can't go wrong with it ever!!!

“Good hotdogs,long wait at times”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 31, 2013

Great chicago dogs, best in town, cute atmosphere for kids. We take our two and four year old. It can take a long time to wait in line or if you have a large group. Just one guy usually working behind the counter. If in a hurry, might be best to go somewhere else but if can wait and have time to sit the have a hotdog and sit at picnic tables and have kids blow the whistle. Owner can be harsh about watching your children closely haha

“Food with an attitude”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 31, 2013

Rail car diner on corner of street just a block off the main strip off of Broadway and Oak. Menu includes hot dogs, sausages, Italian beef, walking tacos, fries, and drinks. If line of people shows up to place orders, be prepared for some very unorthodox instructions from owner on how to order and when to pay. Keep an open mind and it's fun. Pay after you eat usually because owner does not want to handle money while he is cooking. Fries included with most items, and food is good. Fun experience and photo op.
