Top notch place. My wife and i enjoyed our stay so much we have talked about going back again. Great Bed&Breakfast. If your looking for a little get away this is the perfect spot. We loved watching the wild life and enjoyed our walks.
The room was super and the host and hostess were wonderful. Great food too.Good place to relax and enjoy life. This is one of the best B&B that i have been to. Highly recommend it.

Room Tip: Canopy room is the best room.

On a 1-10 scale, the Crystal River Inn is a 12+! The rooms/Inn are beautiful, well furnished, clean, comfortable and very reasonably priced. The hosts are amazing! They welcome you like family, go to great lengths to accomodate your needs, and create an atmosphere of home (or better? lol) To top it off, Robert is an AMAZING chef, and you never walk away unsatisfied! Like us, you just might return again and again!

My wife and I stayed in the French Country Cottage at the end of April. We thoroughly enjoyed the privacy of this detached cottage, which served as one of the farm outbuildings in a former life. Although small, the space was efficiently used due to the use of a Murphy bed, which I think are a great idea. The first evening we were there it stormed quite hard. The sound of the storm combined with a crackling wood fire in the cast-iron stove made for a romantic evening.

Our hosts were wonderful, attentive without being obtrusive. Upon arrival, we were treated to a freshly baked treat, which was delicious. This was a precursor to two very enjoyable and delicious breakfasts. A souffle one morning and delicious french toast the next, both accompanied by fruit. The dining areas in the main house were very attractive. We really liked the morning we were served on the enclosed sun room, with the views to the grounds.

The setting for the inn is very nice, in a tiny rural community. The owners have restored several of the original habitats on their property, which has helped attract lots of birds. Seeing them was a fun extra during our visit. The community of Rural is very close to the City of Waupaca and the Chain of Lakes, so there was lots to do during our stay. We have visited the Waupaca area several times before, but have always stayed in motels. That will change now, as we will be looking forward to returning to the Crystal River Inn during future visits. We peeked at some of the other rooms and were favorably impressed. Next time we might try one with a whirpool, although if it is cold out, a return to the Cottage with its fireplace would be hard to resist.

We love returning to Crystal River Inn because the setting, inn keepers and food are great. It is close to the family we want to visit, and is relaxing with beautiful surroundings.

My significant other and I always take one night each winter to go away and just "be". We wanted to go to someplace different this year and were blessed to find a beautiful Bed & Breakfast that far surpassed any expectations that we might have had for a romantic getaway. The "CRYSTAL RIVER INN Bed & Breakfast, LLC", run by Deb & Robert Benada is a rare find. Fireplaces in your rooms, some rooms have private bathrooms and double whirlpool tubs, beautiful queen and king sized unique beds (ours was a gorgeous canopy), coupled with genuine sincerity for your every comfort by the host and hostess makes this our number one place to get away from it all:) The food is absolutely delicious and comes with views of a beautiful river and just a blessed feeling of calmness to be given the opportunity to be there. I could go on and on but will put up a link to the website, which is very thorough and well done and you can enjoy the experience for yourselves. We are already planning to go back ASAP:) Here is the link: crystalriverinn@charterinternet.com Enjoy!
Sincerely, Gerard Schubert & Kathy Szente

My fiance and I stayed at the Crystal River Inn for a relaxation trip. We were happy to find a quiet, peaceful spot to stay. We especially loved the food! Robert is an excellent cook, and we were pleased that he respected our dietary concerns. We loved that Deb and Robert were always available to answer our questions, but they also respected our privacy if we wanted some quiet time alone. We recommend that you bring your bikes, either to ride on the winding back roads, or at Hartman Creek State Park. The only down side was that the willow bed we stayed in had a very firm matress, and we prefer something softer. I'd still recommend this b&b to anyone going to the Waupaca area.

Being on our way from Minnesota to Illinois, my wife and I did find the Chrystal River Inn, listed in a travel-guide and gave it a try. What a nice surprise.
We received a warm welcome by the (new) owners, had a short tour through the Inn and decided to stay not in the main building (nice rooms though) but in a small cottage on the grounds. Everything was very clean and nicely furnished. The beakfast was wonderful, prepared and served by the host himself in a sunny room, the tiny Crystal river flowing right near by (self-baked bread, self-made marmelade and a real soufflet). The Inn is located South of Waupaca in the little town Rural - the name is program.
We will come back, if we'll ever make it back to the area.
