Our stay here was a terrible experience. My husband & I arrived around 1pm on July 7th. It was hot and I was tired. All I wanted was a cool, comfortable room. The air conditioning would turn off after 5 minutes whether the room was cool or not and the fan did not work. About 3pm I finally went down to the front desk the gentleman working the night shift found a fan which he gave me. Fir the price I paid I expected the in room unit to work, not to have to locate a fan so I would have some chance of sleeping. In the morning I woke up hot, tired and cranky. The girl at the front desk could have cared less that I had a bad experience, refused to offer any compensation for my unpleasant experience and told me to take a business card and call the manager (at my own cost) later. The only good part of the whole horrid experience was the nice, very helpful, professionally dress elderly gentleman who worked the overnight shift. The girl at the front desk during am check out was rude and dressed like a complete slob. She looked like she just came from the gym in her wrinkled t-shirt and baggy pants. Next time I will stay in the Microtel or the Three Bears or the Best Western in Mauston. Definite not this awful place.
