“Great Local Restaurant”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 8, 2013

The Black Forest Pub and Grille has been in business since before 1960 - the first time I went there. It's got atmosphere, history, great service, and good food and drinks. We like it for family dining, couples dining or just hanging out at the bar.

“Good food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 7, 2013

We look forward to visiting the Black Forest while on vacation in the north woods. This year we both had the cheeseburger with onion ring topping...outstanding and prepared as we like it. The stroganoff is also very good. None of our party has ever been disappointed. Only issue in the past was the reluctance to split out family checks...we worked through it. We shall return!

“Great Service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 1, 2013

It was fun to enter this historical establishment and hear a few stories and see the 'old' pics on the wall. The staff is very pleasant and helpful. Very clean and up kept. We can't wait to go back again!!!

“Good food and value”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 27, 2013

We have been going to the black forest for 15 years. Was great when Karen and Bill ran the place. then the next owner ruined the place in 6 months and changed everything. The new owner has brought it back to close to what it use to be and we now take family and friends there again.
Has the neatest old bar in the area. The food is good and reasonably priced, We have had the sandwiches and fish fry and its all pretty good. They have some nice young girls waiting tables that try their hardest to give you good service with a smile.

“Beef tenderloin worth the drive”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 27, 2013

Black Forest is a cozy spot with a great bar in Three Lakes Wisconsin, about 310 miles north of Chicago. The owners are welcoming and hospitable and the smartest thing they've done is to hire the talented Lori Dick as their chef. I believe she's genetically incapable of preparing anything short of an excellent meal. The walleye is great but last weekend I had a perfectly cooked beef tenderloin stuffed with garlic, parmesean cheese, bourbon and who-knows-what else, with a side of hot german potato salad and a couple of manhattans (it is the northwoods, after all),
