Due to a family emergency, we had to find last minute lodging, which is impossible on a Friday night in Duluth/Superior.
We checked in about 10pm at night. The man I spoke with on the phone was not in the office, but a teenaged boy was. He didn't know how to handle credit cards, so he was relieved when I offered to pay for the one night in cash.
The room seemed clean, but had a strange odor. The bed was fine & the bedding was clean, but the carpet & chair were old & stained. The bathroom was clean, but most of the fixtures had obviously been replaced at some point, because you could still see where the old ones had been. It desperately needed new tile & the whole room could use a new coat of paint. .
